"I’m passionate about cooperatives and have honoured to have the opportunity to contribute to the credit union’s exciting future. I like to bank where I belong — which is why I’ve been a member of connectFirst (or a predecessor) for over 40 years," says Paul.

Paul worked at Credit Union Central Alberta (“Central”) for over 18 years (1996-2013), most recently as Vice President, Strategy & Corporate Development. Central is the statutory liquidity manager and industry association for the Alberta credit union system, and also provides payments, technology and other back-office services. 

"I am proud of the tremendous growth and success of Alberta credit unions, and also proud to have personally been part of it in my past career," he says.

Paul currently work as Vice-President, University Advancement at Mount Royal University, where he's led the alumni relations, fundraising, government relations, marketing and communications functions since 2017. He also has Master of Management Studies and Bachelor of Commerce degrees, and an ICD.D designation.   

Past board experiences for Paul include service on the Mount Royal University Board of Governors, CUSource, Credit Union Payment Services, Coop EFT Development Association, Coop Network Services Committee, and Credit Union Organizational Support.

If I could give 0 star I would. Katy Holland doesn't answer calls or emails and never calls you back very poor service, I think I'm going to move banks because of such bad service. It's been 2 weeks and she said it would take a couple of buisness days still haven't heard from her. Despite my multiple messages left on her voicemail and with front desk people. Never again will I step into first Calgary other then to switch banks!!!

My wife and I have been going through the home selling/buying process and we have been feeling the stress! Thanks to Miguel Venexen, after a one on one consultation with him, we felt like a ton of bricks had been lifted off our shoulders! Miguel actually proved he cared and worked in our best interest to figure out a solution that would work best for us! He introduced us to the branch manager who was also lovely and made us feel welcome and taken care of! The single best experience I have ever had at a financial institution! Highly reccomended!

I've been a member at First Calgary for many years and I’ve had no desire to bank anywhere else. Miguel Venexan is my banking representative. His advice has made my financial life much better, he truly worked in my best interest and figured out a solution for my current financial picture.

When it comes to banking First Calgary is my first choice. I have always enjoy not only doing online banking but actually going to their branches too, everybody is always friendly and caring and happy to help. Special kudos to Miguel Venexen who has been our banking representative for a long time now, we can always count with his advise and prompt response, always happy to help in a personable and friendly manner, because of him and the rest of the team at First Calgary, when we are at the branch we are with friends, we are home.

Branch manager is a fraud. Called me for an interview and said he gave the job to his ex co worker and offered me to be an assistant for the position I applied for at half the wage. Stay away from KINDY. He needs to be investigated. He is using his power and influence to corrupt the system!

All the same services and products of a major bank and more... I moved many years ago to connect first and have saved thousands of dollars for doing so. From no fees account, mortages, investments etc this branch has been there to provide professional, courteous, sound financial products and service.

Very cool concept of a free bank. It is true that they do not charge you any fees for day to banking and you can use your debit card as much as you want without fees. The only problem that I have had at this credit union is getting other bank product like an RDSP properly managed. I just lost quite a bit of money because a teller did not inform me of some technicalities during a transaction hence two stars. I am disappointed. Otherwise the credit union has been a godsend with their no fee structure.
