Fantastic atmosphere. Great music. Friendly staff. Nice crowd. Affordable prices. Nostalgic. It's all at the Communist's Daughter.

This place I can’t recommend enough! There’s a live band and the bartender sings! It’s a small classy dive bar and it’s totally worth it

I don't know how we ended up at this bar but so glad we did. The bartender was amazing, gave really good recommendations, and they were a hit. The place isn't too big and that's what makes it amazing. It could be as intimate or relaxing as you want it to be. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone who's in the area and looking for a nice bar that gives you a bit of Toronto experience. We'd definitely be back here over and over again.

I didn't meet any Communists or their Daughters but one guy said he was a Presbyterian Step Son. Close enough for me. It's a great local Dive where the non locals fit right in. Unless you're a Decadent Bourgeois. Then take your Rubles and go elsewhere...

I ventured here with some colleagues late on a Monday evening after having dinner nearby. I had no idea what to expect, but had a really great time. The bartender would play vinyl discs and every 20 mins or so, he would ask all patrons to vote on whether he should play the A side or the B side. Great debate ensued and fun was had by all. It was a great atmosphere, the service was quick and friendly, and it is just and a really cool place to hang out. A warning for the wise... dress casual. I had a sport coat on and felt painfully out of place.

I thought I had stumbled upon a gem, but my experience was completely ruined by the rude staff. One of the bartenders (who others have had issues with as well based on the reviews) asked me to put my phone away when I was playing a 30 second video for my friends, saying the sounds were β€œirritating to the ears” (all the while he playing garbage ukulele music in his bar). I guess that’s where the communist part of the name comes from? Drinks are overpriced and the selection is horrible. I won’t be returning here.

An excellent hidden gem that is quiet and more laidback compared to the Ossington street area that is right beside it. Lovely place to slow down the pace and have a nice chat with a small group. Definitely will be coming back.
