β β β β β brand new badminton court in RichmondοΌ sports woodfloor but have no PVC mat, Not slippery at all which is good. Some players may need time to get used to it, one good thing for hardwood flooring is providing a solid and quick start for movement.

β β β β β The facility is clean. But when it comes to renting the shoes. The lady at the cashier counter said to put them back on the shoe shelf by the entrance doors when I was done using them.
Don't know if they sanitize the shoes later. They do check for BC Vaccine Card and ID, but they do not scan the BC Vaccine with smartphone or tablet.

β β β β β Personally don't like the wooden floor as it's too sticky right now. May trip over if not moving properly.
Lightning isn't great either combine with all the reflection from the floor as well.
There is a bit smell right now, probably from the new paint but you will get use to it after a while.
Overall is an ok court to play on, but the old one on No.3 road is definitely better.

β β β β β Have badminton shoes. Got asked 4 times about shoes. Floor is super slippery and the lighting is so bright it hurts your eyes. The location is also extremely annoying to drive to.

β β β β β An amazing place to go play badminton. Wood sprung floors make it easy on the knees. Very clean facility. Coaches and staff are always friendly.

β β β β β The No. 5 Road facility recently opened and is new and clean. The front area has a pro shop selling racquets and shoes. They also have a stringing machine. I like the spring loaded wood floors with the painted surface. The only problem is the surface is off-gassing a strong chemical smell. I was starting to get a headache while playing. I went out side to get fresh air a couple times, the front door was left wide open, maybe for this reason. Near the end of our session I felt some air circulation which helped a bit. The paint on the floor was already showing some wear at the joint transitions from all the games. (Update-after about two months, there is no longer any smell from the floor).
