City Homes Master Builder - Edmonton

I am very disappointed to put this negative review as my initial experience when purchasing the home with Conny and going through primary warranty visit with James from this company far exceeded 5 stars. I am working on completing my anniversary (final) warranty work and there is a new warranty superintendent Rene who has completely changed my husband and I's view of City Homes for the negative. His predecessor was friendly, and exceptionally efficient. You tell Rene what is wrong and perhaps it is just his way of communicating or my interpretation but he basically infers that you do not know what you're talking about or almost fights/argues with you about it; I find his way of communicating very aggressive. His tone upset one of the contractors working in my home so much that they had a rather uncomfortable conversation in front of me. Rene simply does not respond to emails after weeks, I call and he says he was swamped but will connect the following week, which he did not. I text and he simply doesn't respond or even acknowledge the message. I understand being busy however we are all busy and still are able to complete our required communication. We do not expect to get the work done immediately we simply want to be in que with bookings however far out those need to be which I feel is not unreasonable. We love our home and we were so blown away by City Homes at the beginning on how they delivered on their promises, the seeming extra value they built into their homes with the service they provided, and the way they did business and the humanity they brought to it, but it now seems like we are dealing with a completely different company. I hope I am the only home owner who feels this way because I honestly do not think I could recommend buying with City Homes with such inconsistency in treatment.

We bought our new home with City homes and it was one of the best decisions in our lives. James the field supervisor is only 1 e-mail away, very responsive and professional. He even went above and beyond in helping us get our appliance replaced. Conny the sales consultant is also outstanding and very easy to talk to. We never felt abandoned after we moved in to our new home. We are forever grateful! Cheers!

Emma Mann at the Cavanagh location is so helpful and quick to respond. You can really tell she loves her job and is passionate about helping her clients find the home that’s right for them. City Homes builds beautiful homes. Even though we can’t buy right now we will definitely buy from them once we are able to!

Nothing but an amazing experience with City Homes and Connie and the entire team. Although I purchased their show home via a realtor, the city homes team have all provided 5 star experience which is very hard to find these days! From Connie at the sales office to Dan who has followed up with me constantly to ensure all the minor tweaks in the first year are fixed have been nothing but phenomenal. Thank you again, I love my home and will absolutely recommend you to my friends and family! Ps I loved my gift, especially the blanket!

My fiancé and I have gone through the Secord show home a couple of times in the last month and I’ve been to a couple of their other show homes as well and literally every time I walk in, we are met with exceptional service! Unfortunately that hasn’t been our experience walking in the show homes of some other builders which is why I’m here writing a glowing review. I seriously commend City Homes staff for giving every person who walks in the same attention, genuine care, and quality information. Not to mention the homes are amazing - incredible quality (my fiancé is in the trades and is always impressed) and very fresh & up to date styles! A family member purchased from City Homes and has nothing but great things to say about them even well after moving into their house. You have our family’s business!

My husband and I have recently been looking to build a new home. We have visited several showhomes throughout the Edmonton area and have found City Homes to be extremely well versed in the home building lingo. They are eager to make any changes to any "standard" drawing to make our home work for us. We don't want our house to be cookie cutter or look exactly like one down the street. They are eager to work with us and always treat us with respect and understanding.

As a Mortgage Broker, I have dealt with a lot of home builders and sales consultants over the years with my clients. City Homes has always been fabulous to work with. The clients have always been happy and Curtis Frew makes the experience of building a home even better! With his many many years of experience selling new homes you won’t be disappointed. So professional and detailed throughout the process with every client.

Absolutely horrific "service" from City Homes. They will take your money and promise you the world until the cheque clears, then you are a nobody. Two years since we built our home and we still haven't had our 1 year warranty concerns addressed. Lifting floors, a crooked staircase, our hot water heater installed on top of our sump access, cracking walls and peeling paint, supposed to have our chipped and scratched countertops replaced as they were damaged by builders. So many more issues but hey, how can I get them fixed when nobody will return my calls or emails? And when I get an occasional answer it's "oh, that person left, so and so is in charge now, they'll get back to you" and they never do. I'm so disappointed I can't even put it into words but if anyone asks, I'll certainly tell them to avoid City Homes at all costs! Never have i ever been such a nobody in my life like I am since that cheque cleared.
