The biggest reason for this is because I know James will not upsell and recommend me to get unnecessary repairs. It's worth it for me to drive 40 minutes out of my way because City Auto will get the job done right and I can trust the information he has given me.

James patiently diagnosed and explained the bigger problem and honestly shared with me to check out if the repair was covered under warranty from the dealer where I purchased my car. Was truly impressed with the service today!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you are looking for a no-frill, honest mechanic shop in Toronto, this place is it. The owner/head mechanic will never try to fix something you don't need. There have been many times when I've insisted getting something fixed or repaired for minor reasons, and he talks me out of it because he doesn't want me to spend unnecessary money. On top of the integrity, their work and service is impeccable. You will get better than dealer shop work/service, at a fraction of the cost.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Brought a used vehicle in to James be inspected before I purchased it from a dealer and I couldn't have asked for a better mechanic to help me out. He was able to schedule me in the day after I called and was very thorough in his inspection. He took the time to go over all the of the details with me, not only what was required for a safety inspection, but anything that may need to be replaced within a short period of time - things that were not part of the safety. On top of that, he was extremely reasonable in his pricing and was very generous with his time considering that any necessary repairs to the vehicle would have been done by the dealer and not him. I felt very comfortable with his analysis and wouldn't hesitate to bring any of my vehicles to him to be serviced

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very honest and capable mechanics. Saved me a bundle of money compared to two other garages. This is a rare find in Toronto.
Update: May 2018 - James continues to be an extraordinary mechanic in that his honesty and integrity shine. He did great work on my wheels fixing a ball joint and brakes much cheaper than my dealership. I highly recommend him for all your automobile needs.
