★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I visited Chocomotive during my stay in St. Andre Avelin as it was one of the most recommended places to visit in the area. The selection of handmade chocolates is abundant the the prices are affordable, making it worth the journey. Though my visit wasn’t exactly welcomed upon entering the store. I’m visiting from Toronto (where the mask mandate has been lifted) naturally I entered the store without, which I admit was my lack of proper research on where I was visiting. I was hastily greeted by an elder man aggressively telling me I needed a mask followed with “what’s the matter with you? What’s wrong with you? You don’t know any better?” While throwing his arms up in anger. After explaining I was from Toronto and that I was unaware the mandate still stood in Ottawa, he gave me a mask and continued to watch my every move through the store. If I had not journeyed from Toronto so for long, I would have felt more comfortable leaving my cart behind.
I really hate leaving bad reviews behind the anonymity of a screen, but I do think it is important as a tourist destination to have your staff trained on service and hospitality. I work in the service industry and asking someone “do you have a mask, if not, would you like me to get you one?” Goes a lot farther than asking what’s wrong with them.
From this experience I do not see myself visiting chocomotive again BUT I will say if it is a first time experience for you, it is worth the drive. The town of Montebello is very captivating and the drive through the trees was breathtaking.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Originally we thought this is a travel bureau. It turns out to be a chocolate shop. Super cute little chocolate shop with many interesting chocolate flavors! We really enjoyed their milk chocolate. Cute decor as well. Besides chocolates, they also sell soaps, as well as other gift items.
