This is the trailhead that takes you down to Mystic Beach. The trail itself is gorgeous, and the beach is pretty although also fairly standard Pacific Northwest. The famous mystic beach waterfall is just a creek by mid-summer - you could walk under it and still be mostly-dry. Couple this with the nearby Sheringham Lighthouse (via the city of Shirley) for a relaxed day of activities.

The hike is about 40 mins 1 way. Intermediate level. Can be very muddy. Worth it. When you get to mystic beach. Wonderful day hike. Can get busy.

Amazing trail to mystic beach from here. Slightly challenging, esp if it has rained for the last couple days. There is a suspension bridge over a stream on the way and it’s amazing.

China Beach is a beautiful west coast beach...worth the 90 min drive from Victoria. The hike down to China Beach is not long and it is a wide gently sloping path although there are some stairs closer to the bottom just before getting to beach. The beach is a cobble beach with a stream at one end and high cliffs at the other so there is not a lot of beach walking to be done especially in the winter months when the water in the creek is high.

This place is beautiful. It's a moderately difficult trail with lots of climbing over tree roots, but the payoff at the end at mystic beach is totally worth it.

This area is gorgeous but it's a bit of a hike if you're not into trail hikes. A lot of stairs once you get to the beach but definitely worth it once you're there!

Use GPS to find. Missed the entrance last year on way to Port Renfrew so returned this year just for day hike. 2 great hike options to the ocean and much further if so inclined. Signs posted at beginning of trail which is helpful. Outhouses were clean. Came out on a cloudy misty day so I expect it is much busier in the sunshine. We were late for low tidy and will try for that next time for Mystic Beach if we come out again.

Visited the China beach in 2016. It was a nice hiking thru the forest along the trail. The beach is awesome.
