Amazingly beautiful day at Mystic Beach. Trail is still a bit muddy but so worth the hike down to the beach.

Love this trail hike down to Mystic beach. Relatively easy and family friendly. Takes about an hour each way so plan for a long hike.

The mystic beach trail is the best trail! The path is not flat but interesting, you have to step on the tree roots, tree trunk, there is a suspension bridge and a very long stair, Incredible! The beach is very nice too.

It's closed for a good reason. Do not hike it unless it's open but beautiful views

In the time of the pandemic this and most regional parks are really busy. There is plenty of parking here as the China Beach and Mystic Beach lots are close together but in March 2021 vehicles were still parked on the road. The key thing to know is that down on Mystic Beach where you pick up the Jain De Fuca trail , the trail is marked as closed. (Mid-March 2021). So check to see whether the trail will be open before you go. You can walk down to the 2km trail over a suspension bridge and over the Pete Wolfe creek down through the muddy stretches to the beach. But if you are camping note that there are not that many spots at Mystic Beach, and in the time of the pandemics the trail ahead is closed and there are a lot of day trippers. So setting up the tent could have to wait till early evening. There is a rope swing on the beach snd a waterfall but you will enjoy the beach best at low tide. Note no cell service was available to our group on the beach.

The Juan de Fuca trail to Mystic Beach is a rugged rustic trail. Lots of exposed roots, muddy sections, uneven terrain. Only 2 km long to the beach. The trail is doable by all if you take the time. Don’t expect a city park trail.

Our way along the Juan de Fuca Trail Trailhead reached the Mystic Beach (the trail leads much futher). Google Maps calculetes this rout lasting 30 minutes, but it took us 1 hour. The trail passes through a rainforest with moss and ferns. The powerful roots of trees create steps that require additional physical strength to tread. Sometimes the pass becomes muddy, like walking through a swamp. The path across the Pete Wolf Creek passes over a suspension bridge, which reminded me of Capilano Bridge in Vancouver (all the same, only for free). In the end, our hard way was rewarded. A beautiful view of the ocean opens from Mystic Beach. This is a beach surrounded by rocks with fine sand and pebbles, as well as the tree trunks that were brought by the wave. On the beach there are large black stones? in some places, there is a cave, a waterfall. The air on Mystic Beach is simply healing, as it is filled with iodine and coniferous vapors. A powerful and strong wave? has a calming effect (unlike the urban coast, where there is practically no wave). The combination of all these natural phenomena simply conquered me. Mobile communication isn't available on the trail. But we didn't lose our way, because the Juan de Fuca Trail is marked with orange bars placed on trees. Some Local Guides call the Juan de Fuca Trail one of the most beautiful trails on Vancouver Island and I completely agree with this.
