★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Finally got to try out Chez Christophe in North Burnaby.
Been looking for a place to get a small birthday cake and their Mango Chocolat just called out to me. Love that they come in different sizes. The one we got was for 4-5 servings (ie. perfect for the glutton I am).
70% dark chocolate mousse, mango and passionfruit confit, mango and passionfruit curd, chocolate sponge and hazelnut crunch. Some might say it's a bit rich but I found it to still feel light. The hazelnut crunch on the bottom was a nice contrast to the otherwise creamy texture (would have loved it more if it was a bit thicker).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely store with a patio and amazingly friendly & attentive staff. Chez Christophe also carries a wide selection of premium & authentic French pastries, cakes tarts and chocolate.. Great quality overall, and I’d definitely want to come back to try their other creations.
Boba Cube Croissant Cube (limited item $7.55): this was such a unique and tasty creation. It has perfectly chewy pearls inside from Share Tea (Lougheed location) and a milk tea cream filling. They’ve really perfected their famous croissant cubes. I really liked the texture of it, and it’s buttery and flaky.
Coconut Croissant Cube $4.95: loved the texture and flakiness of this croissant as well, but the cream was on the sweeter to me personally. Subtle coconut flavour. I believe their croissant cube cream/filling is on rotation and changes daily.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Definitely a solid spot for pastries if you’re on Hastings street (burnaby side)! The pastries are very flaky and they have a great selection of croissants, desserts, cakes and chocolates. My friend and I tried a few different pastries and they were all consistently great breakfast items. The croissant cube was perhaps a little overhyped? Still good nonetheless.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I came here on a Saturday afternoon and immediately thought “Ok, next time I’m going to come when it opens…!” Superbly popular and I managed to snag their last double baked chocolate almond croissant. Their desserts, pastries…all so delicious! I grabbed their Mont Blanc (also the last one), and it was not too sweet, and I can’t wait to have another! I also got their Spanish Latte as an afternoon pick me up with oat milk and it was so velvety and delicious! Hoping to make this place a monthly “treat yourself” spot!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ SHUT THE FRONT DOOR! This place is a dessert lover heaven. Their famous cube croissant - very nicely done with different fillings, the cube croissant was flaky & not even oily.. I am sure there’s butter in it but couldn’t feel the oil in it. So… it’s not there. I had the one with coffee… so….GOOD!
We got several kind of pastry , each piece is heaven itself. I am going to let the photos speaks for itself. Place is very classy & parking easily available in the street. It’s abit off the busy Burnaby heights. I am so glad I am not staying near the place cos I will in big trouble!
You must go… you will not regret!
