Dr. Bourdon has been helping his patients and enjoying the practice of optometry for over 25 years. Dr. Bourdon graduated in 1991 from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry; he also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree as well as a Degree in Chemical Engineering. In his free time he enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife and three boys especially when they are skiing, snowboarding,wake boarding and flowboarding. He also particularly likes to pretend that he can keep up to his sons when they are on their mountain bikes.

I have been wearing glasses for over 40 years and have never had such a horrible experience. My issue has been ongoing since October, I followed up on December 18th and today I was basically told to leave. My lenses are not satisfactory (one in fact has an incorrect prescription). They are clouded with a yellow tinge which in over 40 years of wearing glasses has not happened before. I will investigate at another business, and if this is an issue that can not be helped due to changes in the way that glasses are manufactured, I will accept this. However - in my journey to get clear, correct lenses put into my existing frames, I have been treated very poorly by a newer staff member who has absolutely no concept of customer service, very poor communication skills and what I feel is low cognitive ability. To be fair, a different staff member (who told me she started today) did attempt to satisfy me. She apologized for a problem that she had nothing to do with and did appear to be knowledgeable. The final straw happened this morning when I was given a call to come in and have my new lenses cut & placed into my frames. When I arrived I waited about 20 minutes while they attempted to install the new lenses. I was then advised that the lady who normally cuts glass was not in today, and they were not sure if she would ever be back. (That must be an interesting story, hopefully she is OK). I asked why I was telephoned and advised to come in when they could not install the lenses ? No response. No apology. No solution offered. Made to feel that I had unreasonable expectations and that I would be refunded, take my business somewhere else. This is the first time I have written a bad review. I enjoy providing good reviews for businesses that deserve it and take my business elsewhere when I am not satisfied. The events leading up to today, and today's experience actually brought me to tears. I believe one staff at this business is not fit to serve the public in any customer service related capacity. If she worked for me she would be fired, she is beyond retraining. Hopefully the new staff member can turn things around, she showed excellent potential.

Customer service could use improvement. Took over half an hour for my call to be answered (not put on hold, just answered). Abrupt treatment. I do not feel my business is valued. Employee was a bit pushy trying to get me to buy new glasses. I explained it was not in the budget but that didn't keep him from trying. I do like their products, they have quality products, they have helped me out with no issues when I have come in the past for emergencies, exams, purchases and warranties.

My grandmother had problems with her glasses and they said to wait for 2 weeks to get used to them, but had made them wrong. She had to wait for the new glasses to be ready, and the situation was repeated...3 times! With all those times waiting 2 weeks before they re made the glasses again. At the end she had to update to better lenses. They didn't explain at all why the glasses didn't work.

I haven't had an eye exam in years, and was nervous about going. The Optometrist has the best personality, and great sense of humor! He also knows his stuff! The staff there as well are all awesome! I couldn't decide on the glasses I wanted, and I felt no pressure whatsoever to hurry up and make a decision. Great experience!

As soon as you mention you're on assistance their attitudes totally change and they were super rude to me and right away questioned my parenting abilities because I needed the coverage. Name calling and telling me I needed to be responsible. If I could do - stars instead of a 1 star on this review I would.

I was there for an eye exam and didn't buy any new glasses. The reception ladies as well as the optometrist were courteous and helpful. They can't do direct billing to Blue Cross for U of M students, so students, be prepared to make the claim yourself (it's super straightforward anyway). Lots of tests were done, and I was given an explanation for anything I asked about the machines and what they do. I also asked for them to measure my current glasses readings, since it was years since I last went for an eye exam and I forgot, and they happily obliged.

Very nice people working there. New to Charleswood area. Decide to go to place close to our house. Was bit nervous going here because of bad reviews. Found them to be unjustified or maybe someone was having a bad day. All the ladies at front desk were very friendly and my eye exam went very well. Gave me my prescription with out any pressure to buy glasses there. Would recommend going there to anyone. Seemed like they had latest technology. Price was less than half of my last exam at a different clinic.
