Very unpleased with this place. Had a remote car starter installed three years ago. Since then I have blown through four car batteries. I finally asked Honda to preform a draw test (first three times battery was covered under warranty with a slight charge, as they thought they were faulty batteries). Sure enough the draw test showed the issue was the after market install. Called certified and they told me I would be charged for another draw test to identify the problem and that it would not be covered under warranty EVEN THOUGH THE STARTER IS KNOWN TO HAVE ISSUES! Due to “company policy” they will not rectify this situation without it costing me more money out of pocket. I will definitely Italy be taking my new vehicle somewhere else for the stereo upgrade as this is TERRIBLE service.

About 4 years ago I had a broken remote control for a toyota 08 highlander, I went and bought an online new one that failed to function. After I used google I found this very professional and modern shop in Edmonton where they were able to supply me with a brand new controller, program it in 19 minutes, and the cost was very reasonable. I was late to rate you but I did it finally ?. Thank you again.

Hit or miss here. Everyone is friendly enough however I guess at the end of the day, they’re just in it to make a sale. Repairs to car starters (especially ones older than 5 years) are not at the top of their list which I should have assumed meant their customer satisfaction is not a priority. They asked me to wait over a month to make an appt to have it repaired in which I had asked multiples times if it could even be repaired. Their comment to me was “oh ya we can repair it and if we can’t, the cost for the labour can go towards a new car starter”. I wasn’t happy with this and told them flat out that it was insanely cold out and if they knew they couldn’t repair I’d just move to get a new one as I didn’t want to wait. The sales person I spoke to went and asked the techs a few more times and they all came back to the conclusion that they could fix it so I opted to save $700 and wait. Finally appt time a month later and they’ve completed the troubleshooting in less than 20 minutes just to tell me that it’s irreparable. Then, they charged me for it and asked me if i wanted a new one. Even remote starter shops who don’t deal with remote starters that Certified Radio sells tried to fix this starter for me, made customer service a top priority and got me in the same day to see if they could fix it as the temperatures were absurd at the beginning of Jan. All because they knew it would take less than 20 min of their time. None charged me for this work as they wanted to check first if they could even do anything with it. Not certified radio though. Completely ridiculous and Honestly should have known this was the customer service that I would receive after being told “we only do repairs from 8-9am in the morning which is why we can’t get you in for over a month because it’s not as important as installs”. Don’t go here - I sure wished my Subaru Dealer had taken it to a different shop when I had purchased the vehicle now. There’s so many smaller companies who deserve our money and treat us a lot fairer.

I came in for advice on installing a cruise control and remote starter on my Japanese imported CR-V. The good news was they've done them before, the bad news was they have a low success rate, so they refused. I appreciated the honesty and that they told me the truth. I got the strong impression they aren't a "money weasel" outfit. Will recommend them to others because of that experience.

I went in to browse for speakers for a future car stereo upgrade. My salesman Mr Froese was very knowledgeable. We went over various speakers sampling them all. He did not try to push the top tier item on me, only used it as a reference of just how good things could be one day. I really liked that. Can't wait to come back in the fall to make my purchase.

These guys originally installed my remote starter over 10 years ago. I had problems with it after disconnecting the battery terminals. It was stuck in valet mode. Cory told me to stop by the shop on the West-end. He took a total of 2 minutes to get it working properly again. Don't waste your time trying to research it on You-tube, take it to the pros at Certified Radio, they'll fix it for you. No headaches, no fuss. - Thanks again Cory.

My remote starter that I purchased from Certified 5 years ago was draining my battery. I went through 2 batteries because of it. My mechanic suspected the remote starter and removed the fuse for it. My battery stopped draining immediately. After a long wait to get my car in to Certified for them to look at it, I was greeted by a guy that was pro-actively setting my expectation that it is not the remote starter even before they looked at it and told me that it would be a $50 charge of no problem found. Well they looked at it and very quickly decided there was no problem. They didn't care what I had told them. I came to the conclusion that there was no way they were going to honestly honour the "labour warranty". I purchased the starter from Certified because of their long record in the city and what used to be a stellar reputation. Well, that is trash now. End result, I took the care to somewhere else and told them to replace the remote starter with a new one and the car and same battery has no problems anymore. It's simple. If anything they install ever needs service, you will be placed on the lowest priority and then informed that either everything is fine or you will need to spend a bundle more to fix it. Just avoid this place.

Bryce and Lyle at the west end location just assisted me with a system for our boat. I could not believe the neatness of the install. Flawless. 2 thumbs up to the installers / techs at Certified. Great service from start to finish. Lyle and Bryce took the time to walk through everything with me after install, ensuring I was fully satisfied. Thanks to the entire team for a job well done.
