I tented at Cedar Lake Recreation Site for one night while passing through Golden area. The campsites were sheltered and appropriately-sized for my tent. I did not spend too much time at the beach, but the traffic of visitors indicated that it was a fairly popular place. I took an early morning walk out onto the dock, which offered a serene view of still water surrounded by trees. Check-in and payment were easy as e-transfer was an option. The outhouse facilities were clean and well-maintained. The only things I would note to a prospective camper are that the bugs are persistent and that the noise of traffic passing by the campgrounds was louder that I expected. Overall, I definitely would recommend this campground for anyone passing through the area!

A really beautiful lake on the way to kicking horse resort. This will be a good place to spend a summer day with family. The water near the shores is very clean and you can see the floor for quite a bit. Also it seems this will be a nice place for bird watching in spring and summer.

Beautiful, quiet, wooded sites. Far enough from town that you can't hear the trains, which is a huge win. We stayed at another campsite before coming here to explore the bike trails and seriously regret not camping here instead.

Beautiful spot, with good campsites each with picnic table and grill. No services or wood so bring everything you need with you. Small lake good for swimming, complete with rope swing! The road in was pretty bumpy, so I took off 1 star.

Secluded, beautiful. There's an immense network of trails and boardwalks to explore. 10 campsites, $12/ night. No water or trash, haul these in and out yourself. Out houses. Day use area and a boat launch. We enjoyed the rope swing and Sandy beach. For a mountain Lake it was quite warm.

Very nice campground for $15 a night. Just have to go down a short gravel road to get there, but it's well worth the effort for the peace & quiet on this mountainside campsite. You can listen to the ducks & loons at the small lakeside beach or take in some fishing.

We rolled in when it was pitch back and had no clue what we would see in the morning. We were very surprised with the size of the campsites and the small lake was very impressive. Pit toilets were clean and the park host was very friendly and knowledgeable on the area. We will come back.

Very peaceful we were there for 2 hours on the lake trying to catch a fish. Well no bites so we went for a walk down by the trail. It was mostly for bicycles but we've made the best of it. Very secluded and we actually found another lack behind this one.
