The Spanish River Resort is situated at the mouth of the Spanish River Delta at the Eastern end of the North Channel, The Delta is a fishermans paradise and is home to many popular game fish like Muskie, Northern Pike, Walleye, Bass and so many more.

From our location we have access to Georgian bay and the Benjamin Islands via the Little Detroit Straight, North Channel and the Spanish River and its many creeks and triburaries. There is so much to do here, between the amazing fishing, natural beauty, canoeing, kayaking, swimming and almost endless wind for kiteboarding, your next outdoor adventure is here waiting for you at the Spanish River Resort & Campground.

Our Resort is located right at the shores of the Spanish River across from the Delta, in the Town of Spanish Ontario. The town is located along the TransCanada highway #17, approximately 120 min west of Sudbury and 145 min East of Sioux Saint Marie. From the TransCanada Highway, turn South on Trunk Rd., East on Algoma St (go past the Superette convenience store), then follow Colonization rd until you see the signs for The Spanish River Resort, and/or former Mitchells Camp, we are located at the end of Colonization Rd.

We had some truck troubles (truck batteries overheating) and had to find somewhere to stop and the owner was able to fit us in for the night. The owner was very kind and helpful, he came and helped the hubby look things over and make sure we were set to be on our way the next day! The view was amazing, lots of fishing on a nice big river! All other campers were super friendly and stopped in to talk with us! Definitely a hidden gem, worth checking out if you like fishing or want nice water front views, swimming or just taking a boat up the river! 10/10!

He is really working hard to make this truly a fishing destination. We very much enjoyed our weekend, very quiet, and close to everything you need. We will be back next year for sure! I was completely new to kiteboarding and trying to learn on my own. I called David up to get some answers about the sport for free. He gladly offered his time and shared what I realized were hard facts about the dangers of this sport that can only be acquired from experience. David has this experience. Months later I returned for a lesson on self rescuing and body dragging, two skills I just couldn't learn on my own. David happily tailored a lesson that suited my skill level and gave me additional instructions in theory and kite control. While David's own talent and skill as a kiteboarder are breathtaking and inspiring, SAFETY is a top priority in every situation and discussion.

Right on the water, we were able to kayak and my husband went kiteboarding…Dave’s passion too! Lots of fishing and boating opportunities. Good job Dave!

It was perfect! Parking/trailer parking rates are excellent, atmosphere is upbeat, kids had a blast in the swimming hole. Dave is constantly working to improve the place and has such a wonderful vision for the property. Glad to have found you, Dave! Going to have to stay for a little kiteboarding next time! We will be back!!

The accommodation, while not fancy, was comfortable warm and had absolutely everything you need in the kitchen to cook up a storm. We visited at this time for the fishing and were not disappointed as the fish were plentiful and delicious. We caught both small mouth bass as well as pike and pickerel. Dave, the owner was pleasant, friendly and extremely accommodating of our every need. The resort is equipped with two cozy cabins as well as a quaint RV area with campfires for all the s’mores your family can cook up. It also boasts a convenient and safe swimming area for children away from the dangers of passing boats and river currents. Be sure to welcome a visit and chat with the resident local Moe. This man has a wealth of knowledge about the history of this quaint little town and will entertain you for hours with his comical anecdotes. We had a fabulous experience and would happily return to this resort in the future. I highly recommend checking it out for your next family getaway or boys/girls fishing weekend.

It was quiet and we enjoyed watching the sunrise and set while there. The only negative was not having a dump station for those just traveling through. But...it was still a gem for us! Thanks Dave!
N	Ngoc Nguyen on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hi everyone, it’s my first year here, this place it’s relaxing and friendly Atmosphere. People at most campsites are very friendly and welcoming. We are here for a seasonal sites, and also have a boat slips from Dave too. A few strong points when we chose this place are, *waterfront we could see from most campsites and just a little walk then you’re there. We have two dogs, there’s little lope we could walk them or do there business. Dave still doing some renovation around the campsites to make it better each and everyday.
