Cedar Gardens Apartment Homes - Edmonton

I have lived at Cedar Gardens for over a year and feel that I have gotten enough experience from living here t fairly and accurately review them. The suites themselves are acceptable, as far as living suitability goes. However, everything else is sub-par. Parking is a joke -- you'll be extremely lucky if your space corresponds with your suite number, therefore to plug in your car during our incredibly cold winters is a gamble; just cross your fingers and hope that your battery can withstand the night. Maintenance is also laughable. Although the two that do watch over the buildings do what they can in the time they are paid for (who works without being paid, afterall?), the priority in which things are dealt with is ridiculous. I had to install my own master closet when it fell my 3rd day of occupancy after over a month of waiting to have someone come in. Lastly, but what I feel is most important when you're renting, is being able to contact the Landlord. Or in this case, the property manager. Unsure of other Weidner locations, but this building has NO SPECIFIED hours of operation. Therefore, the property manager makes his/her own hours, will be there on and off throughout the work week, and is nearly impossible to get a hold of. Left a voicemail? Unless you are a new prospective tenant (they need to fill spaces to make money) and not an existing one, you'll be lucky to get a call back. Have a complaint about your neighbors? Suck it up, because it goes nowhere fast. Have a concern regarding your suite? Oh well, best deal with it yourself otherwise it won't get dealt with at all. Overall, out of 5 stars I give these buildings a 2; not the slums, but definitely not worth living in for the heartache you'll have to take on.

The office staff are friendly and helpful. But that's as far as the good experience goes. The neighbors are terrible and loud and always fighting and vandalizing the building. The building doors have been smashed and mailboxes vandalized since I moved in one month ago. The hallways are always dirty with lots of garbage. Clearly the residents have no respect for the building or their neighbors. Curb appeal is awful.

I had the pleasure of renting from Cedar Gardens, and I can't say enough about the staff, they were always available and ready to help. Very friendly and knowledgable about the apartments and I never had to wait long for a reply. I would definitely recommend Cedar Gardens to anyone looking for an apartment to rent!

Staff was never in the office, i rarely was even able to pay rent on time because of it. They never once followed the listed hours. Oh and when we first moved in, the rug? FULL of nails. Yes nails. Counted over 30 nails i had to remove myself with a magnetic pole. Thank god a young family didnt move in i cant imagine the danger if a child would have found all the nails. Oh and when i told them about the nails, 3 times.... They still didnt do anything about it. A litteral danger hazard. Oh theres more.... 3rd floor a resident was allowed a big deep fryer.... Inside an apartment! Wait still more.... Fire alarm was set off multiple times for no reason, no warning for tests. Oh wait theres more... Homeless people sleeping outside my door.... Wait theres more... Second bedroom ceiling was complete water leaking was about to collapse soon... Did they care? Nope. The amount of problems i had living here, and that was only 1 year living there! Crazy right? Avoid this place for your health and safety.

Ive lived here for almost four years. I love my apartment. The cleaner Simone is amazing it is an old building, but she makes sure its always clean and smells amazing. The office has changed a few times over the years, but they always make the transition smooth.

I lived there almost 2 years and they went thru4 managers .and probably 5 cleanerrs.which I don't think that ever got replaced.Current manager is nice and understanding but never kept promises to clean stairs and halls of bad stains .disgusting stain. The maintenance manager is ok but cuts too many corners.The cupboard underneath the sink is rotten because it took him 4 times to get drain repaired properly.Ooh did I mention a bug problem. BED BUGS.AND MANY other types.Manager said that an exterminter comes MO newly and on monday I will ask them to check and no one else has complained about bugs.which is a lie I spoke to several other tenants and they got sick of reporting or complaining about the bugs and other issues. I should be reimbursed for anotherbed and couch that were infested with bugs.Around 700 $.

Ideot staff , they dont know how to talk , the reception dosnt know how to talk and rude , the neibor making too much sound i complain 3 times no action. Not recommend at all. Very bad place to live, what they say is this is apartment people make noises , there answer is not even normal ,they are not a normal people , people making too much loud noise should be kick out .

Myself and my children lived in building E for 3 years. 2 years in 201 and 1 year in 202. We moved across the hall to get away from the neighbors from hell in 101. They played loud music, partied, and yelled and screamed constantly. They kept me up at night and the screaming was very hard on my nerves. I complained ALL THE TIME and it never got any better. That was my only complaint. Otherwise the management was fine, there was a few different ones, maintenance did his best to keep things working in an aging building. I never had any pest issues or any other major issues. It was kinda dirty in the hallways but honestly I blame some of the tenants for that. Like anywhere there was some very nice people, and then some grose less desirable ones. I would rent there again. Just nowhere near the lady in 101?
