★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was offered the opportunity by WCB to attend a Return to Work Program at CBI for a rotator cuff injury. I had no idea what to expect and what it all entailed, but from my first step in the office the atmosphere was very professional yet warm and friendly. I knew that this was a great place, but had no idea how wonderful a place it would be for me.
After an assessment of my injury from the CBI physician and my arm capabilities, I was set up with a team of specialists who were there for ME for my entire 8 weeks! First was the physiotherapist Scott. He again assessed my injury and with the help of the kineseologist, Taryn, an excercise and stretching program was made for me. I really wondered how these simple yet posture perfect exercises would improve my shoulder. But after 4 weeks of 5 days a week for 4 hours each day... I was able to go back to work on modified duties, for 4 weeks, while still attending the return to work program. Returning to work was a bit difficult, but with the help of Kelsey, my CBI moderator, the transition went smooth! During my entire time at CBI, I had the benefit of the physiotherapist: with dry and wet acupuncture, tens, acupressure and of course those wonderful heating pads.
CBI gives you the tools needed to improve your injuries and are there for support during your time there. But ultimately it is me who will make the difference............and you know it did!
