Considering I've waited over a year for a sleep study through Manitoba health and still haven't gotten an appointment, the 3 day wait here was well worth the $195. They have been fantastic with answering questions and helping me get the info I need.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Well - I fundamentally dislike the existence of private health care. I would 100% prefer to pay more taxes over paying out of pocket so that EVERYONE can get care in a timely manner. But, I guess with our terrible conservative government we're kind of suck between a rock and a hard place right now.
Based on my own experience I guess I'd recommended Careica - but mostly I'd tell people to vote NDP and contact their MP/MLA about the gross injustice of the two tier system and how completely evil it is that we have for -profit healthcare in this country at all.
Folks shouldn't get to jump the line because they have money/insurance. I don't feel good about using this private service. But hopefully that means someone who needed a spot in the public system got in a little bit sooner because there was one less person in line. Or maybe I just convinced myself of that to assuage my guilt of being able to buy myself better care.
Anyway - the doctor I had my virtual appointment with was absolutely lovely and very kind.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Having to drive to the opposite end of the city to pick up the sleep equipment. After a couple dozen minutes setting up all of the sensors and controls and pairing to the tablet, it continually gives me a failed connection on the chest sensor. (Trouble shooting guide: is it plugged in? Yes.)
So not only has it ruined my night's sleep already with all the gadgets glued to me, but it doesn't even work, and thus won't properly gather data, entirely defeating the purpose of this inconvenience and cost. Along with having to get up earlier than usual to drive it back across the city before work tomorrow.

I made my first appointment to them and from the onset, they were very welcoming and helpful. From booking to the actual appointment, they had been there for me every step of the way and even beyond that with constant follow up and the assurance of assistance whenever I need it. A big thank you to Elissa Swirsky for helping me throughout the treatment, from trial to the purchase of my own machine to the monitoring, debrief and follow through. I definitely would highly recommend Careica Health for sleep apnea treatment. 5 stars!
