Capital Tattoo

Got my first tattoo there! I was definitely a little nervous- the type of tattoo I requested would require a highly experienced artist. It was suggested that I go to capital tattoo and im so happy that I did. Devin was very kind and reassuring throughout the whole process. Super positive place for a first timer- im absolutely in love with the outcome too!

The first two tattoos that I had done at Capital Tattoo were amazing. My third third tattoo this past October however, was extremely disappointing and will be my last at this shop. I had selected a piece of flash from Dustin and asked if he could match my cats markings to the piece of flash that he had drawn up. He said that he could. I sent him pictures and was pretty excited, even if in the end, only the face markings matched. He was able to get me in quickly; a few days after I had contacted him. Dustin pushed back my appointment at the last minute by a few hours because he tried to squeeze another tattoo in before my session and wouldn't be done in time. I was told by Jessica that this isn't uncommon. This was the first time I had experienced such an occurrence. The session itself, wasn't bad. Dustin was pleasant to talk to and had a light hand. I was getting my shin tattooed and it felt good. We finished up, but something looked a little off. I couldn't place it and figured it was just because it was a fresh tattoo. I went home. I didn't realize until evening when I was cleaning the tattoo and thinking about getting Dustin to do a matching tattoo on my other shin for my other cat, that the bridge of the cats face wasn't filled in. Which is why I had thought the tattoo looked off. After it healed and I asked if Dustin could touch it up, he told me that it would be $160 and he would darken up the face IF he thought it would look good. Things devolved from there. I have never been treated that way by a tattoo artist or an owner before. I thought that maybe it was just me taking it personally. But I've talked to other tattoo artists, other tattoo owners and other people who have been tattooed...they all agreed that my complaints and requests were valid. Once the lock down is over, I'll be looking at getting someone else to touch up the cats face.

Nicole is amazing, we had been designing a memorial tattoo i wanted but then covid happened and everything fell apart. 2 years later, im finally stable enough again to afford the time and money for a tattoo, and Nicole remembered me and had all of the design work still on hand. She was also very accomidating to my schedule.

Everyone was happy and the artist Jenna Coffin was amazing as ever with her designs and craft. I cant tell you how great it is to go into a shop that everyone is enjoying. Makes the experience 100% better!! Shop was very clean and bright. I highly recommend.

I did so, so, so much research before my first tattoo and could not be happier that I chose Jessica here! Honestly, every single artist is incredible here! The vibe is chill and kind and not intimidating at all, even for a newbie! I have gotten a second piece by Jess already and plan to dedicate my whole leg for her art! Couldn't recommend Capital Tattoo more! Best shop ever!

The Friendliest Tattoo Shop in Edmonton! This shop is a super friendly, welcoming place. Super open and bright, you just feel comfortable when you are there. The owner takes time to chat and quite often there are other artists around to distract you from the pain! I've had 4 sessions with Jenna Coffin at this location and even though you are in pain, I really enjoyed coming to this shop. I also recommend Jenna Coffin as an artist, her portraits are on fire and she will be honest if the piece can be placed in a better spot to highlight her art best and make you look good. The music wasn't all screamo all day either but a mix so it was a bit refreshing from other shops ha ha ha.
