Capital Orthodontics

I got my braces from the Kemptville location, and the whole process was really great! The staff is wonderful, Dr. Clarke was so easy to work with. Huge shout out to Sindy, she made me feel so welcomed as soon as I walked through the door. She was always jumping up to see how my teeth looked, gave me such great compliments and she made me feel right at home! Thanks you Sindy, and thank you to everyone that works at Capital Orthodontics! Really great place to go.

Over ten years ago I had my teeth straightened at the Barrhaven location. Absolutely incredible and life changing. So when my wire was removed by a bad dentist and my teeth started to shift back I saw they had a location in Kemptville which was way more convenient for me. Consult went well and the quoted price was great, much less expensive than another consult I went to. But I found the communication within staff members pretty bad. When I went to my first appointment, I felt like I could have literally told the assistant working on me I was in there for anything and they probably would have done it without confirming with anyone else. I had thought I had understood I was getting both top and bottom wires removed as per part of my ortho plan. I told the technician/assistant thats what I was in for and she did so, and that part was fine. But when the head ortho(owner I assume) came in to check the work she did, he kinda got upset and said that he only told me we were taking off the top wire. I kinda felt like he was chastising me like I was a child even though I am almost 30 years old. The same thing happened at my second appointment, I was under the impression I was getting x done, told the assistant, she did the job but then I was told again by the head ortho thats not what we agreed upon initially. Not sure why this wasnt communicated effectively between staff. Anyways, I am still giving a decent review because my teeth did turn out very nice and straightened themselves very quickly. But the lack of communication between staff members was a bit odd and if I have had to deal with that 10+ years ago when I initially got braces as a child I would have been pretty anxious and upset.

First impression - nice office, limited hours and the Orthodontist I consulted with left me with unanswered questions. I'm on the fence with this office and think I may get a second opinion, not because of the work that needs to be done but because of the Orthodontist himself. You are charged almost $100 for an initial consult and the Orthodontist seemed like he couldn't get out of the room fast enough. I was trying to get a clear picture of my options and the processes involved and he seemed to have one hand on the door handle the whole time. He bolted out of their as quickly as possible and left it to his assistant to chat with me (very nice and knowledgeable) but left me with a very "you're just a number here" vibe. I'm not confident that a 5 minute chat is enough information for me to make an informed treatment decision, especially at the cost of Ortho work.
