★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Solid venue with diverse and innovative programming. I never know what.to expect and have been surprised many times. Simply showing up to one of their shows and doing no research can be really fun. Surprised is a rare thing these days and I'm happy to say that Canadian stage offers it up consistently.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Definitely the poorer cousin of the Bluma Appel theatre. Small poky venue with mediocre acoustics, a tiny lobby area and VERY cramped seating. If you're more than 6 ft tall, get a first row or aisle seat to avoid hours of ergonomic torture and stay clear of the balcony altogether.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I quite enjoy coming to this theatre. The plays aren't well-known, but they're always avant-garde and interesting. I find the Downstairs Theatre, particularly intimate and enjoyable for plays and performances that are powerful but unusual, to be the perfect setting for hidden gem productions.
The theatre itself is very accessible and convenient for a small theatre. Parking is available across the street and it's very close to public transit. Simple concessions, such as chips, almonds, and soft drinks are available.
The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Ordering tickets online or by phone is easy and tickets can be picked up at the box office minutes before the performance. I have never had any administrative problems with ticket ordering, whether making a purchase or redeeming vouchers.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I attended Domesticated at the Berkeley and what an amazing experience. It was one of the best performances I've ever seen. The play was everything they said it would be, funny, serious and dramatic. It was so well written and staging was brilliant. I sat in row H, last row in centre orchestra seating and it was perfect. What an intimate setting, you felt like you were sitting in someone's living room. I can't say enough on how much I enjoyed the evening.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great cozy venue to explore the best of the theater scene. Canadian Stage seasons passes are a great way to experience new and innovative shows by groups from Canada and around the world.
Can't wait until we can enjoy a drink before/during the show again (thank you COVID 19) and looking forward to a full season of entertainment.
