Don't bs and they will treat you with respect! Most professional crossing!

I am a Canadian (Immigrated to Canada long time ago). It is interesting that every time I cross the border going to US, I am always being treated very nicely. They smile and welcome you to the US; but almost always when coming back home to Canada, the officers at the Canadian border are so angry looking, with a very poor manner and behaviour and never once I heard saying “Welcome home”. This is a shame for a country such as Canada.

They have always been extremely helpful. They are very good at what they do and have gone above and beyond to help me during the Covid restrictions. I have been there in time when Covid wasn't an issue and had other experiences which weren't so pleasant but they're just doing their jobs. The best most helpful border agents I've had the pleasure of dealing with are at the Aldergrove/Lynden Crossing.

Brutal, nasty and demeaning hour long interrogation of a widowed senior citizen. In 40 years of world travel I've never been subjected to such a horrific experience.

Definitely not pleasant. The border agent was quite rude and despite our PCR test and vaccinations, we were selected for a “random” at home test which was extremely inconvenient. We had to make a virtual appointment and then mail it in from a clinic; I would recommend staying in the USA. This is sad to say because we loved to visit BC, but we don’t feel as though it’s now worth it, very disappointed.

I want to add one-star public review to this Canada Border location for their professional working attitude. If you choose to go through this border, be extra careful what you might tell them, they have down time and likely can spend extra hours ruin in your trip. What happened to me will be possible apply the same to you occasionally. I was kept at the border for 3 hours so they could inspect what was in my car and investigated the reason I wanted to enter Canada. In my situation, I didn’t carry anything illegal, or violating any law, instead they suspected my reason. They found nothing illegal in my car after shuffling up all my personal item. However, the investigating process in the border office was extremely painful, they isolated me and my girlfriend for questioning individually, searched through all our personal bag. The border officer H. continuously mentally harassed us, verbally threatened us, and stopped us being raise questions or having equal communication. In one point, I must speak up that his action wasn’t professional at all. That officer even didn’t have an apology to us to the end, instead his colleague must present on behalf of him the reason why and how the process works. His colleague proved that you can be strict and reasonable at the same time. If I couldn’t convince him my good manner entering to Canada, or I'm not qualify to entering Canada, they can turn me away; but I deserve to be treated at the same level of a citizen. I understand and totally respect H.'s job, he must hold the responsibilities and the duties of a border officer; however, there is a fine line between being a strict commander and being an arrogant jerk. I believe any officer should not be trained to slam the other people’s phone on the counter, or pointing to other people face when communicating, or using a pen to repeatedly tap in a US passport when making a statement that American do not have the right to entering Canada. His imperious attitude brought the flashback of the government officers who insult and harass others to prove their power; unfortunately, that is still happening today. We are US citizens, I present myself professionally, and I have been travelled many foreign countries in Europe and Asia, also visited Canada many times before. This is the first time I have a terrible experience when go through the border. I don’t judge their decision, but the attitude instead; he presented a Canada which I feel disappointing of, and personally I still feel suffering for many days after. He owned me an apology.

5 minutes to cross, very nice guards, and yes I got a random covid test to do upon arrival at my destination. Its very easy to do on the phone, then drop at drug store..all done! I never have problems here.

If do not recommend. Although this crossing is not often as busy, especially recently, I find the Canadian border patrols are less than respectful. I have had better experience at Sumas.
