About Calgary Rowing Club
Private and Corporate Team Building
There is no better way to experience team work than rowing together in a rowing shell. Our coaching staff will take your group through a warm-up session and basic movement introduction on the indoor rower before taking you for a safe and fun rowing experience in our barge! No tipping or rowing skills/ fitness ability required!
Depending on class size and needs of the group, there is also the option of splitting the groups up in eight person rowing shells and hosting a team race down our buoyed course. The team that works the best together will come out victorious!
Check out the video below from our Calgary Flames hockey players who participated in a team building activity in 2016. Note: the Flames are rowing in more advanced boats - the barge (pictured above) is the less tippy option for your group!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Have no respect for fisherman and are told by their Trainers thst this is their water! Alway row close to shore and just smile when I am trying to fish! The staff have gas boat which everyone else cannot have on the Glenmore! Two sets of rules for the fisherman and the rich rowing club!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dont go until July. I was not happy to find out that every single canoe was reserved for school trips. All Day. Every Day. Until 5:00 PM.
Sure, it is great for the kids, but keep a few boats aside for people who only make it to the city once every two years. I am sure that the school wasn't using every boat.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There is no better way to get fit than to join the Calgary Rowing Club. Excellent coaching year round for juniors, masters and recreational rowers. Makenzie is excellent at breaking down the skills needed to improve your stroke and you benefit from staff that builds a training program with skills building in mind.
I have rowed at other clubs and was pretty used to being invisible to coaching staff as a rec rower with no interest in racing. Not here!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My girlfriend and I visited here and rented a canoe for an hour. Was decently priced, and they provided all equipment (life jackets and paddles). An hour flies by so make sure you make the most of it. Was a gorgeous place to canoe, and had lots of fun. Service was good and the employees were super accommodating and kind. Made the whole experience pretty smooth. Anyone can do it, definitely worth checking out!
