β β β β β They reported us to the collection agency for not paying the lunch fee. Once we received the call from the collection agency we verified it with the school and payed it. A month later showed up on my credit bureau record as owing to CBE. Called them back and explained that I have paid the bill, can some one write me a letter or give the bureau a call to remove it off of my record.
They never did, seven years later it was still an obstruction for credit cards, loans and you name it.
Absolutely ridiculous but unfortunately it isn't a grocery store to boycott it, we have no choice but deal with them.

β β β β β I fear the day my kids are ready to go to school. I fear I will not be able to find an option other than the CBE. I face these fears because of my own experiences. Several times. I went to teachers about bullying. Got accused of playing a victim and the bullying worsened. I told teacher about abuse I was suffering at home. And again was acused of playing the victim.
I'm only writing this to warn other parents of the quality of educators this fine city employs.
I'll home school my kids before I allow them to be subject to these bafoons

β β β β β The way Admissions Assistant (Shirley Woodward) solved my problem at CBE welcome center, I am truly appreciate her efforts and way of guiding me as being a new immigrant I find it really helpful and pleased by the service she provided. I found her really professional, easy going and understanding.

β β β β β Gorgeous venue and delightful service, with food to boot! The crab cakes were the best I've ever had. My wife Margeret was considering divorcing me until I took her to this fine establishment. I cannot stress enough how magical this place is!

β β β β β I live and work in Shawnessy and I have had two experiences with Sam Shaw School where both students and admin have shown racism.
In May 2021, all CBE schools were given the directive to lower their flags in response to the mass child grave found in Kamloops. This school did not. I called to inquire several times as to why they hadn't and heard an indirect response two weeks later saying it was too late.
Today, a class from this school was walking past my work where I have a Ukrainian flag in my window- several students threw snowballs at my window to hit the flag. I called Sam Shaw to complain and the secretary told me to have my manager call to make the complaint. Very dismissive staff and very rude. I am extremely disappointed with their lack of care, consideration and respect- especially as an elem/jr. high school who should set better examples.

β β β β β Cbe is great....unless your a grade 9 student trying to have a school graduation. Everything is so heavily resticted we cant even have teachers that dont directly teach us come. That is if we can even have a grad. Cant fundraise, Cant accept donations, Cant do anything without the CBE taking two weeks to respond. My peers fought tooth and nail just to give us the chance to have grad and now its looking like we cant even have that. The teachers and students of CBE deserve better.
