r	riscsorry on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been following this bakery on Instagram for a while and decided to give them a try on my birthday. I didn’t order anything in advance as I didn’t want a cake, just something sweet. It was a Tuesday and they had cupcakes for a loonie. My son insisted we get two because he loves cupcakes. I, on the other hand, don’t care much for them as they can be dry and flavourless and the icing is usually way to sweet (and I am also talking about specialty cupcake stores). I was so surprised when I had mine, it was light and moist and everything had just the right amount of sweetness. If you want an amazing tasting cupcake that doesn’t feel like a punch to your mouth with sugar, come and have one here. We came by on another day and got some more flavours of cupcakes and they’ve all been amazing. They also have yummy almond croissants and the first time I had one, it was still slightly warm. There are lots of flavours to choose from and we can’t wait to be back and try them all. I also wanted to say how friendly the service was every time we came by, we felt really welcomed.
S	Sheryl Martin on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A visit to the Cakr Maker is a must. Yennii and Salem's Cakes and Pastries are delectable and melt in your mouth amazingness. You can taste they use top quality ingredients to create their food. The sourdough bread they sell in their shop is amazing too.

The pastries are truly scrumptious, especially the croissants. It's one of those little bakeries that you want people to know about, but also want to keep the secret to yourself. Ha. Definitely a must visit when in, or passing by, New Hamburg.

We arrived shortly after opening and found that there was very little fresh offerings ready yet. We bought a chocolate croissant, two cupcakes, a day old container of brownies, and a banana chocolate chip muffin. The croissant must has still been warm when put in the bag because it was all melted by the time we got home. I was sadly disappointed because there was no lamination and the whole thing was just mushy and unpleasant. The brownies were more cake than brownie and had not been mixed well which left visible spots with weird texture and taste in them. The cupcakes (one oreo crumble and one black forest) had good cake, but the whipped cream icing lacked flavour and was underwhelming. The banana chocolate chip muffin was the best thing I bought. I was moist and had good flavour. All in all my experiences did not match the raves this bakery has received from friends. I could tell the ingredients were good quality, but things did not come together well. I may have to come back again to see if this was a fluke. Everyone has bad days...I definitely seemed to have come on one for this bakery.
