They work within your budget and there is no big surprises at the end. If something unexpected comes up during the project they tell you right away so that everyone can discuss to come to a solution. Rachael is great at listening and understanding what you want and what your taste are and helps guide design with that in mind. They have a great crew that works with them. I’d highly recommend them for any project and will definitely use them again should we need more work done.

They were very helpful in picking out materials, very flexible when some changes to design came along and organized. I could always easily get a hold of them through the whole project. Patrick and Rachael Burden, owners of Cadence Construction and Design and their incredible team, turned our vision into a reality. Rachael is extremely thorough in every aspect of the process. She has a great sense of urgency to get things done on time, along with a keen eye for design, which helped immensely with the million decisions that have to be made along the way. There were many moving parts to this full home renovation and Rachael always kept things on track, was a step ahead of everyone and kept us well engaged. We can't say enough about the team, the process and final product were beyond our expectations and they made it easy! Patrick's attention to detail and follow-up and woodworking skills are exemplary, so much so we have even commissioned him to build a few other pieces for us. They are professional in every sense of the word, reliable, passionate about their work and they have a wide network of excellent trades people who we were all very pleased with. You are in excellent hands with Cadence Construction and Design, we highly recommend them and give them a 10+. We made new friendships along the way, and will miss having them in our lives everyday.

Our main floor renovation included making a very broken up floor plan into an open concept, with a 33' steel beam installation right through the middle. The kitchen was a full reno that included a 10' island with stove and range hood, new floors throughout, recessed lighting throughout, and paint and trim. The crews were always on time and very mindful of us as well, seeing as this occurred near the end of 2020 Covid was still a factor and we had parents working at home and a university student as well throughout the entirety of the project. We have been in this home for 34 years and have to say that the changes they did have changed how we live in the home now. We are enjoying the space like we never have before. Working with Cadence Construction and Design Inc was easy and we would call them again in a heartbeat.

The crew was always pleasant and respectful. From our first meeting we had a good feeling - Rachael and Pat came with constructive ideas and when we presented our budget they worked hard to build an action plan that would make our dreams into a reality. They are highly communicative which we really valued. Inevitably there will be bumps/surprises in a large scale reno - the Cadence team was quick to flag them and to present solutions/options to keep us as customers happy and the reno on track. They are very organized - our reno was completed on time and on budget. The workmanship is excellent - their attention to detail is great, and when we flagged small things for improvement there was never an issue or ego. Rachael and Pat welcomed our feedback and encouraged us to be vocal throughout the process to ensure we would be happy upon completion. We would highly recommend Cadence.

When we sat down for the initial consultation with Rachael and Pat we knew right away this was the contractor for us. They left us with a good feeling of being trustworthy and honest and they didn't disappoint. Rachael did a fantastic job of taking us shopping to pick out things needed for the basement and keeping us on budget as well as conveying our vision of the basement to Pat and his team who also did an amazing job of turning that vision into reality! The work team that comes in are all super nice and friendly and very respectful of our home. They worked quickly and always made sure that everything was cleaned up each day. They took the time to understand our needs and planned use for the space, and how to make it work with our budget. Patrick and the guys doing the work were a pleasure to have working in the basement. They were respectful and tidy. They always came in with a smile and a shout of ‘good morning’. Patrick and the team created a space that we didn’t even think was possible, maximizing the small unfinished basement space and turning it into something great where we now enjoy spending time. Before, during and after the project, communication from Rachael was fantastic.
