★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 40 years ago this was one of my favourite shops. 25 years agoI found the prices a bit high under a new owner. Today I was shocked by the mess, very limited selection and "sales" person who was busy with her phone the whole time I was there.
The space is small but could be much better organized and kept somewhat tidy and much cleaner. My impression was that the owner is no longer interested in the business and is letting it run into the ground.
This small shop could be excellent for a single focus. They already do sell some quite reasonable hand made children's cloths. If they concentrated on things for kids (cloths, toys, nursery items, activity books...) and carried fabrics, accessories and patterns for these, the space might be absolutely wonderful.
As it is, the place is a very messy hodgepodge of random bolts falling off shelves , threads, scraps and paper grabage all over the floor, and the odd tripping hazzard.
I may look in the window as I walk by but this shop will not become a destination. I am sad to see it's demise.
I give Buttons and Bows a star for the hand made children's cloths they offer (including custom orders according to the sign!) and a star for keeping a small fabric shop open at all in these days of cheap off the rack cloths.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This shop is an institution that has been revamped a number of times in the past 40 years by different owners. Currently they carry a good selection of trims and buttons with some new lines and modern accessories. Small but nicely edited selection of mostly cotton fabrics are also updated seasonally.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This long-time Victoria sewing store on Foul Bay Road is a regular haunt for my daughter and me (and my mother before us). The shop has great management in the person of Tina. In fact, I discovered a special collection of beautifully made children's clothing, sewn right there by Tina while I shop! For its size, the store has an amazing amount and variety of inventory! I love this shop!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Adorable local fabric shop with the cutest flannelette, cotton, and fleece prints! All at reasonable prices, too. It's a small shop but they make the most of the space they have, and they sometimes have truly amazing sales going on! The owner is super, super friendly and helpful, too. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.
