About 12km, 3hrs to do the loop (at a leisurely pace). Due to COVID-19, it’s one-way counterclockwise. Ample parking in the lot (arrived around 9am), nicely maintained and marked trail; trail can be fairly busy on weekends. Orange/pink markers as well as some reflected diamonds throughout trail. Hiked mid March and no muddy spots (I did it in runners)! A couple of picnic benches underneath power lines about half way through - cross the bridge here as the service road leads to the closed northern portion of the lake. Can be cool in the mornings so layers/light jacket recommended.

Buntzen Lake and Eagle Mountain Park should be put on your must visit list as a Vancouver local. The lake is a beautiful drive through Coquitlam and Port Moody that leads to a whimsical road draped with trees covered in moss. The lake itself is easily accessible for most if not all visitors and there are some hiking trails and old work roads that you can use to explore the area. Kayaks or a canoe would be of great use here and you might even get as lucky as we did and spot a Bald Eagle. I wouldn't recommend visiting this lake if you're a tourist. There are lots of other destinations to visit that have more breathtaking views and experiences but for what it is, this location is 5 stars. Check out some of my other local destinations for more information about our city and the surrounding area!

We drove 45 min to there from Downtown at weekend. So clean with great view of lake. Lots of people paddle boarding and kayaking there. Positive: 1.A great surrounding place for dogs. 2.Lots of bench that you can put your bbq on them but only gas and electric. 3.Different hiking routs with great landscaping of lake and woods. 4.so peaceful and family friendly picnic. Negative: 1.No internet and for some provider such as Fido and Freedom no network at all! 2.If you go there again weekend at sunny days, try to be there before 8 AM. After that you have serious problem for parking lot. We spent about 30 min to find an empty lot.

It is an up and down trail, couple view points, it is named intermediate but depends which roots you chose( I prefer to say moderate). Parkings are easy to find if you are there before 8:30AM(summer time), Based on my device it is around 15 KM round trip.

The view of the lake is amazing. The trail took us 3 and a half hours. The trail is easy but to long (this is the biggest lake in bc). There is a warning from bears in the area. Most of the trail is in the shade.

The trail took us 3 hours. The view of the lake is amazing. The trail is easy but to long. There is a warning from bears in the area. Most of the trail is in the shade. Easy to moderate trail. We hiked in October/17/2021 Small elevations and drops, trails are relatively easy to walk on with some rocks and branches. The loop cannot be completed at this time due to bridge closure on the far end, so you will be backtracking on same route. beautiful water views. Nice hike, Recommend
