★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place for the family. But it gets busy. Fishing is good. But you’ve got to know how. These fish can be picky. Try trolling flies. Or if you’re feeling up for it, look for some Kokanee.
It can get windy on the water. But it’s a good place for beginner paddlers.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful spot. Nice 2 hr pretty easy hike with the dog. Sign that there was a cougar present so kept dog on leash although most didn’t. Stunning nonetheless.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lots of stuff for everyone here. Right off the parking lot is a dog friendly area, the lake, and some washrooms. There is even a bus to get here.
Around the lake are a few trails that are pretty flat and easy. But you can also go up and east to Mt Beautiful and go for an intense, long hike over 1000m of elevation gain.
We showed up intending to do the former and ended up trying the latter, so didn't go all the way up, had to turn back. But it was really nice for being so close to the city.
Oh yeah also the parking lot has no signal, but the mountain had excellent coverage for some reason :D

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Buntzen Lake Trail is a gem. Beautiful views, a lot of creeks and fluffy trails. Also there is a dog off leash zone where pups can enjoy swimming and playing around. Just take in kind that a suspension bridge is closed now, so you can’t do all the circle around the lake
