Bumblebee Pre-School Society

This is a happy place for my child. This is a play-based preschool with amazing, caring teachers. The kids are always doing fantastic new projects and activities - every year is different as the teachers are always coming up with new things to do and learn.

My daughter is in her second year at Bumblebee Preschool and she LOVES going to school. The teachers are dedicated, kind, and patient and they make every effort to get to know each of the children well. For example, the teachers do a home visit before new students begin at the school. This was so helpful for my daughter. Her teacher came over for tea and brought a book to read with her. They sang songs and my daughter showed her around the house. When she started school, my daughter already knew one of the teachers so it made the transition easier. There are so many details that make this school amazing. I visited many preschools but the first time I saw the room that Bumblebee Preschool is in, I loved it. The space feels open and airy and is decorated with all of the kids' many art projects. The teachers encourage creativity and exploration. They set up different activities for the children every day. Another get to know you activity that is done is the 'About Me' Book. At the beginning of the school year each student is asked to create a book about themselves (with their parents' help). These books are kept in the classroom and every day the teachers read one of them to the class. I could go on and on about all the great aspects of this school but really it is the amazing teachers and the dedicated community of parents who make this school great. My older daughter attended three other preschools/daycares before we moved to this neighbourhood so I have firsthand experience with other good schools. Bumblebee has really exceeded my expectations and I just wish my older daughter could have attended this school too!

Our son is in his second year at Bumblebee Preschool and he loves it! The teachers are fantastic, they are caring, encouraging and creative. The expertise of the teachers and the teacher student ratio (3:20max) make this a positive and nurturing environment. The classroom is bright, clean and creative. With regular art projects and holiday celebrations including Halloween, Chinese New Years, Valentines Day, Diwali and more, there is obviously a lot of thought and dedication to the program and the students are learning AND having fun. When we were looking into preschools we researched and contemplated the benefits of a play based preschool vs. Montessori. We have been extremely happy with our decision to join a play based preschool and we know it was the right choice us.
