About Budget Truck Rental

To use our free pick-up service, call your Budget rental location directly at the location phone number listed on your reservation confirmation. Pick-up service policies (hours of availability, allowable pick-up distance, etc.) vary by location so it's important that you call the location and make arrangements for pick-up at least 24 hours before your desired rental time. When you call the location, be ready to provide all applicable information including precise address, exact time of pick up, and a phone number where you can be reached at that time.

Please note that an off-airport Budget location cannot pick you up at an airport that has a Budget location. In this case, either you must rent your truck at the airport location, or provide your own transportation to the off-airport location where you prefer to rent

Gave us a lemon of a car...we had to be towed to a service station and extend our stay an extra day because of the issues with the vehicle. Contacted then many times--and even got hung up on a few times by people refusing to take my call in the first place--about some sort of compensation and all we got was the run-around. I will NEVER deal with Budget or any of their partners again.

These people are slime balls, they didnt come out after I returned a car i rented and sent me a bill four months later for a broken windshield. There was no crack in the windshield and four months??? They wouldn't provide any pictures or proof. Stay away from these crooks. I was told they take that long to bill multiple renters for one windshield.

This was the most awful experience. I was first misinformed of the price via telephone and was lead to believe by the owner himself that the extra 120.00 charged to the credit card was for "incidentals". When picking up the vehicle I was advised to add insurance to the vehicle so I did. The owner himself then tried to persuade me to take an SUV saying I may get snow, then said it was the same price as the car. This was untrue and the SUV is also much more expensive on gas. When asked about how much the SUV was on gas the owner said it was as good as the car. Another lie. When returning the car, I was charged the extra 120.00 that was for "incidentals" and there was absolutely no issue with the car. Again, speaking to the owner I told him about how I had spoke to someone on the phone and they had said that the 120.00 extra was for incidentals, not to be the total charge. He asked me when I called, I responded "Tuesday" he then asked who I spoke to and I said I was not given a name. I left very upset. The next day I received a phone call in the morning saying there was a chip on the windshield of the car. I said ok so that would be why I got insurance. He proceeded to tell me the insurance does not cover that. Pardon? I then had some things to say, explaining that I had been over charged and lied to on the phone. THE OWNER proceeded to say, no when you called on Tuesday you did not ask if the extra charge was for incidentals. So I said "interesting, you are admitting it was you on the phone when I called on Tuesday, yet yesterday you asked who I spoke to on the phone aware that it was yourself the whole time and still haven't taken ownership". Mind blown.

They are woefully understaffed and the hours reflect this. We rented a car for 10:00 am on Sunday (the earliest time they were opened) and the attendant was late by seven minutes, the car was at the airport (a half-hour drive away). Although we booked an economy car for good mileage and handling they wanted me to take some old white van instead. I refused and waited for my car to come 45 minutes later. When I complained about the service and the fact that I would now be late for scheduled event in the US, the female attendant told me that I had a bad attitude (?!!!). I guess according to Budget Customer Service you get what you are given and when you complain about it then you get scolded. Make sure that you get them to adjust any changes to your contract in writing. They will promise to include something but the paperwork does not reflect that and you will be charged accordingly. Read carefully.

One of the two car rental companies in town. Friendly service. Great staff. Can rent at the Sault airport and return in the city or vice versa.

The lowest I could give is 1 star, they owe me a star. They were so rude to me I returned the car without even knowing if I’d have a ride to work the next Monday.
