Stunning hike! The road can be a bit tricky with a 2WD sedan, but if you can persevere to the lower trailhead, you are in for an incredible (and reasonably short) hike!

MAKE SURE YOU GO TO THE UPPER PARKING LOT WITH 4X4 VEHICLE. Do not start at lower parking lot. If you start at upper you bypass the terrible first 2 hours of the hike that was way too challenging for young moderate hikers with average fitness. The bugs are also unlike ANYTHING I’ve seen before. We did not make it up. 50 flies on you at all times so you cannot stop and take breaks. 100000% just start from upper parking lot to save yourself hours and hours which is what our friends did. Around 45 min to the meadow incredible place without 2 hours of extremely steep, rooty, bug infested hike.

Amazing hike! I was overwhelmed by the beauty. It was tough to get to the top but worth the struggle. 10/10 recommend.

Breathtaking views all around. Accessible with 4wd vehicle or hike able. Directions can be a little confusing so pay close attention.

Absolutely amazing views and a great, fairly quick hike to the meadows (longer if you want to get up the mtn peak). GETTING THERE: If you're going to do this you'll want a 4x4 to get to the actual trailhead, but a high clearance 2wd will get you most of the way and then you can walk the rest to the lower trail head. There's an upper trailhead where you'll want a jeep or something similar. MOSQUITOS: this is apparently a particularly bad season (2020), but the number of mosquitos in the meadows was insane. Bring a bug net, full length clothing (like goretex so they can't poke in), and repellent if you're staying a night or 2.

An absolutely amazing trail to hike; the view at the start of the meadows is one that will make you stand there in disbelief of how beautiful nature can be. A 4x4 vehicle with a fair bit of ground clearance will help to drive right to the trail head or else you are looking at quite the hike from one of the lower parking sections. If you are an athletic hiker I highly recommend scaling part of Brandywine mountain as the view from the top can be spectacular.

Went here for an overnight on Sept 12th. Started at the lower parking lot. Many folks headed to the upper lot to bypass the steep terrain. I didn't mind the climb. Sure it's steep, but it adds to the adventure and the hard part is done and over with in about 90 minutes. Besides, you'll have much of the trail to yourself and enjoy the quietness. There's also plenty of berries to eat near the top, so it's your little special reward. As for the meadows, they're splendid. Most folks that camp there tend to gravitate to the SW side of the meadows for the nicer views of the Garibaldi mountains, but if you stay to the same side as the trail and head up past the meadows, you'll find more seclusion. We made the mistake of camping in a "popular" spot, as we were the only ones there at 10am. But when we returned from our hike up the mountain, 5 TENTS were clustered beside us. I mean c'mon! Literally an empty meadow to camp anywhere and you set up 5ft from my tent. "Inconsiderate" is the polite choice of word. Hike up to Brandywine Mountain! It's a slog and quite tiring, but the effort is rewarded with breathtaking views.
