This must be the worst No Frills in Vancouver! It is a smaller store and they routinely run out of items that are on sale, or sometimes they don't even receive products that are advertised in the flyer. The meat selection is tiny and does not seem fresh. They are very strict with the requirements to return empty cans and bottles and have no staff dedicated to Customer Service. If you need help with something, good luck finding someone to help you.

For a downtown grocery store, not bad. Prices are about as low as you'll get downtown. Usually not too busy (only a couple mins wait during "rush hour"). Fairly clean, which is nice. Being a budget grocery store the quality and variety of meats isn't great. Produce is serviceable. It's a smaller store so don't expect tons of varieties of every product, especially not a lot of niche stuff, e.g. the ethnic aisles are pretty lacking. Great place to go for your staples though. And they have self checkout now, which is cool.

Helpful and do take an interest in the needs of there elderly clientele. I cannot speak highly enough of Toni and the front staff. Product prices are reasonable, it's clean.....it's atmostphere is more like the local grocery store and not a box store.

It's right next to my house and serves most of my needs. Good selection of meats, snacks, cheeses, and most importantly, Halal meat. I get 90% of my groceries done here. Good prices and staff is very helpful.

Unfortunately, this store is notorious for selling off / moldy meat and produce at a reduced rate which is not fit for sale (and is final sale). The prices posted are often not what you get and they don't price match with all stores. They do not adhere to standard Price accuracy code. Here's how the code works: When a customer alerts the retailer that the price of an item scanned at checkout (or self-checkout) is higher than the advertised price, participating retailers must honour the lower price. (At this store doesn't happen, its "old tag was up, or wrong tag, sorry") On top of that, if the item costs more than $10, the customer gets a $10 discount. If the item costs less than $10, the customer gets the item for free. The Safeway on Robson has Superior meat quality and lower prices. Their reduced products have a good shelf life left and they honor returns if product spoiled (with receipt) I'd head there to avoid hassle and disappointment.

I live only 100m from it so this is my go to grocery store. Even if I wasn't so close I would still shop here. It's not huge but it's got everything you need (it doesn't take an hour to walk up and down all the isles like at Safeway). It has President's Choice products which I like. Prices are better than any other grocery chain in this part of Vancouver (sometimes by a lot). Theres always good sales on. It's clean. Well laid out. Produce is fresh. Staff have all been friendly. I have no complaints.

The name is somewhat deceptive. Yes there are a lot of products here without "Frills" in terms of the packaging and the price, however there are also plenty of branded items too which are excellent quality products. The President's Choice brand is the dominant brand here but the quality and variety has improved significantly over the years. I used to to shop here from twenty years ago and have noticed a lot of improvements at this store. There is a wide range of produce, dairy, frozen, tinned and non-refrigerated foods available and all at a reasonable price, especially when compared to the other local markets in Vancouver. I would highly recommend this store for general groceries and also specialist items including vegan, halal and other international foods.

Obviously you need to do your homework and know your prices if you’re on a strict budget but generally the prices here are competitive and the people working here are friendly and fun to interact with. One thing you never hear here is β€œyes we have no bananas”. There are always lots and they are very well priced. I have been shopping here for years and prefer it to some of the larger grocery stores in the area specifically because of the neighbourly feel. The Halal meats are another draw. $1.00 large bags of chips !
