β β β β β Unfortunately the eastern part of bow valley parkway is closed now. I went there a couple of years back and the whole parkway was open. They say there is a lot of wildlife activity in that area, but you really need to have luck in order to view wildlife in this area. The only thing that I saw in these two years is a fox. Overall it is a good place, of course given a chance I will go back again. I would recommend people to do biking there.

β β β β β This year the road is gated off so it has no car traffic. That is wonderful as you can walk or bike or roll without fear of speeding drivers.
At the East end there is quite a bit of parking. If you are using a wheelchair you can get through the gate easily. It's only 3 km to Muleshoe, a parking pull out with a short 3m pathway to a bluff overlooking the mountain peaks and River Valley.
if you are using a bicycle, you can ride here all the way from Canmore on the Legacy Trail and never have to ride on a road. Just make sure you always bring an extra jacket as Mountain weather is changeable.

β β β β β The highway 1A from Banff to Lake Louis is a good place for biking. For teenagersοΌyou could turn back at the Johnston Canyon.

β β β β β Wonderful bicycle ride today on the road to the Johnston Canyon closed to motor vehicles traffic. We had the newly paved roadway all to ourselves and our fellow bicycle riders. A quiet ride among the golden colors of fall. Round trip was 36 km, one of the most scenic rides I ever had.

β β β β β Banff never fails to provide unbelievable views along its many trails and the Parkway was one of them. A 1 hour bike ride took me through many different types of areas and I was able to see many different animals and views. A must see when visiting Banff and wanting a time to disconnect and observe.
