I’ve been training here since January 2016 with Peter Leach and would recommend both the gym and Peter as a trainer without hesitation. I love this location because this isn’t one of those huge gyms that tries to be all things to all people – this is a place to set specific goals, and work with the people who will help you achieve them. As a trainer, Peter is dedicated, motivating, and really knows his stuff. He varies the workouts so they never get boring, and has kept me on track to exceed anything I expected to accomplish -- including benching 200 pounds! Most importantly, Peter has consistently challenged me while still keeping things fun. I actually look forward to going to the gym now. The hour I spend training with Peter is consistently the best hour of my day.

I never have lifted any weights until a month ago when I started training with Body Be Fit. Kevin and his team have created a very welcoming environment to people of all abilities. The trainers I've worked with Greg and Peter have been very organized and client centred in helping me work towards my goals.

In June 2018, I was diagnosed with a whiplash injury as the result of a motor vehicle collision. Due to the physically demanding nature of my careers of both nursing and paramedicine, I was not able to work for months. Along with the assessment and treatment of my emergency physician, and family physician, I have sought out chiropractic care, physiotherapy, massage, and acupuncture to aid in my recovery. When I was finally cleared to return to work, I really struggled with exacerbating my pain with minor tasks. Furthermore, when I was eventually cleared to go back to the gym, I really struggled with how to re-strengthen and maintain my strength, without provoking and potentially worsening my injury. Finally, with the prescription of my family physician, I sought out the assistance of a personal trainer. Upon the recommendation of a friend, I started training with Kevin Smith with Body-be-fit, at Evolve Strength Sunridge. I was hesitant at first, and embarrassed by how much I had weakened in the months that I had to forgo the gym due to injury. I was extremely frustrated with myself, and how my injury had now limited me. Nevertheless, Kevin stressed how important it was for me to start slow, and to very gradually progress my training. He emphasized how important it was to allow myself the grace and patience to accept my body's present limitations, especially, if I did not want to further hinder my recovery. After training with Kevin for the past few months, I have become stronger, and although, I still experience pain from my injury, the strength I have gained has lessened its provocation. During training sessions, Kevin is constantly conscientious of exercises that may exacerbate my pain, and has always, even on the fly, found modifications to prevent this. Kevin has also had the insight to assess when my body has not been ready to perform or progress certain exercises due to my injury. He has taught me to have grace with myself, and the celebrate how far I have come in my recovery. I truly appreciate how Kevin has refocused me to appreciate my present abilities, and not dwell so heavily on my limitations. This has been extremely encouraging because I am a very active person, and have had great pride in how strong I was prior to my motor vehicle collision. I still experience pain regularly, and I am still limited in my abilities to do the things I was capable of prior to my injury. However, with Kevin's guidance through Body-be-fit, I am confident, that I will be able to continue my recovery, and gain back the strength I have lost. Working as both an advanced care paramedic and a registered nurse, I am constantly reminded of how important it is to make taking care of yourself a priority. I would highly recommend Kevin Smith, with Body-be-fit, to anyone seeking assistance in their own struggles through recovery.

I have worked with Kevin at Body Be Fit on and off for 5 years now. He has been a part of my 140+lb weight loss journey from the start! One thing I have learned in that time, is that he is always looking out for his clients! Even when I was not working directly with him, he would reach out (at what felt like the exact right time) and tell me how proud he was of my accomplishments and to continue crushing it! Every workout with Kevin leaves me feeling stronger than I ever thought I could! So empowering and satisfying!! I was referred to Kevin Smith at Body Be Fit by my Massage Therapist! She said he was excellent at improving strength, form and function while recovering from and preventing further injury! Working with Kevin Smith at Body Be Fit has been life changing for me. I've become a stronger person, physically and mentally, lost over 70 pounds, and gained my confidence back that I had thought was gone for good. My one on one personal training sessions with Kevin have helped me stay motivated and taught me the correct way to do the exercises I'd been doing wrong my whole life! His bootcamps are fun and challenging, and it's so nice to work out with people who just want to support and cheer you on. It's obvious that Kevin is passionate about helping people change their lives and he makes it his goal to offer all kinds of amazing, affordable training options.
