★ ★ ★ ★ ★ African deliciousness!! Blue Nile East African Restaurant dinner buffet was spectacular. After running a half marathon I needed FOOD and this was absolutely the right choice. 9 of the 12 buffet dishes are vegan, plus injera mmmmm injera. Our favorite was the red lentils or bursen tumtumo. We were the first ones there at 5:00 but it was pretty full when we left at 6:30. Total was $50 for 2 buffet and 2 glasses wine. Worth it! The family who run the restaurant are extremely nice and courteous and the food is not only delicious but is also very healthy - a rare combination in my experience. The portions are big and the price is right.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have ordered takeout plenty of times before and will continue to do so. This is my favourite take out place in all of Victoria. The flavours in every dish I’ve ordered have had amazing depth, whether it’s a meat dish or a vegetarian dish. My favourite is the siga zebhi combo with lentils but have also happily ordered both the meat lovers and the vegetarian combos. I recommend calling the restaurant directly if you’re doing takeout. Much faster than any third party app and you speak directly with the staff.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ah we loved this place and the service is amazing. We got the vegetarian combo and it was so quick and easy with so much variety! Even a very fresh tasting steamed and lightly seasoned carrot in there! Felt like coming here in special dresses but that will have to wait for next time :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So disappointing. We ordered some favourites from past buffet visits for delivery. Unfortunately, it's all going in the compost as these delicious gluten-free dishes came wrapped in injera. There is nothing in the online menu or in skip-the-dishes that suggests this will happen, and when we have ordered for delivery before this didn't happen.
When you advertise a deep gluten-free.menu and people don't order the one gluten-containing food, wrapping their entire meal in gluten is just thoughtless.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We got take out from the Blue Nile. This was my first time having East African Food and it was delicious. I can't believe I haven't had this before. Ordering on the website for pickup was easy and fast. The owner was really nice when picking up the food. Good portion sizing as I feel very full.
