Best Live Slab selection in the city, thanks for the great deal on this walnut slab!

Great place, tons of cool exotic wood. Definitely pricey but you get what you pay for For the most part. Take your time and be fussy! All of us woodworkers know it's a natural product and no one can control Some of the natural characteristics that a lot of wood types have make sure you have exactly what you want!! I did expect their tool selection To be a bit more varied, I could only find a couple of rotary tool bits.. But as the name says its black forest wood not wood working accessories.

Purchased a King 5/8" tilting head mortise machine from them online unknown to them of my purchase they sold the only two with in store purchases then reached out to Terri the owner he was placed another order with King he kept me updated he was very polite and as soon as it arrived Terri shipped it out to me down in SW Washington State, USA it arrived very fast and professionally crated Thank You Terri and BFWC!! I highly recommend them as a professional woodworker of over 45 years!

I'm editing my review from one star to four. Would consider changing it to five in the future and that could definitely be said for many of my experiences there but when I reflect on my recent experience with one of their salespeople five might be too generous and I think you'll understand. Long story short, I had a bad experience where their employee Marc in the new slab bay. He delayed me from buying slabs of wood for weeks. If I was reviewing Marc it would not be good. Delaying it one week at a time for three weeks and then informing me that it was going to be at least another month before they would attend to it because it was not their priority. I needed it for a major renovation project for a customer of mine. I lost sleep over it; it was the only thing delaying my project. It's hard to even imagine let alone experience a wood store not selling you pieces of wood that are just sitting there because it is not their priority. At this point I needed that wood because my customers hearts were set on it. For me to ask my customers to go shopping elsewhere because I wasn't considered a priority by Black Forest and that the wood they chose is still sitting there but they won't sell it to me would have been awkward. So I went in on Monday only to be further infuriated by Marc, but I went to their main bay and asked their employees if I could speak to the manager or owner. They said he would be back the next day. So I went back the next day. I think he was completely embarrassed that this happened in his store and personally milled the log himself and let me have first dibs. This completely turned the experience around for me and is why I am changing my review. I've seen other people say in the reviews that they have had bad customer experiences here and if that is the case, maybe just speak with someone else. The company is probably just experiencing growing pains and haven't figured out how to pass on the values of customer service to all their employees yet.

Finally made the decision to pull the trigger on a custom desk for my office. My only previous exposure to Black Forest up until that point was watching their product line through social media. I reached out, got a response immediately and the entire process, from selecting the specific piece of wood, through design, and to delivery was 100% top end. My desk arrived and was set up last week and it’s more beautiful and timeless than I ever even imagined. Amazing company, amazing quality and craftsmanship. I’d give 6 stars if I could.

I had two orders with them. One came late and incomplete. As such, i had to contact them to send the rest of my order. The second order was supposed to be shipped within 1-2 weeks of September 8. It is now almost at 7 weeks and my order has not shipped yet. I sent them an email to cancel my order few days ago, but i have not heard back yet. They charged me for the item on day one. So i am charged $300+ for 7 weeks now. How convenient for them!!!!! I will never purchase anything from them again. Bad service and no updates.

Beautiful selection of exotic woods. So much to look at it’s almost overwhelming! I love going in there and just wandering around and smelling the beautiful woods. Good selection of all sorts of products, equipment and accessories. Can’t get enough of the videos on their live edge tables!! Keep up the good work!! Seriously!!
