You can lock the knee, do toe stand pose, practice 4 times a week or more, and are 'hungry'' to deepen yoga practice then come enjoy a hot 90 mins class.  You'll be challenged to do an intermediate posture/3rd set  in this class

"I started yoga because I was doing a lot of weightlifting and I was always stiff and sore when I played basketball because I never stretched after my workouts.   Once I started Bikram yoga, my vertical increased, I got faster, and I was able to lift heavier weights due to the breathing & strengthening exercises in class, plus I was stretching properly which helped me gain muscle mass. The yoga also helps me to recover faster after a work out because of the amount of blood flow to the muscle group, it also cleanses out my joints which has helped prevent injury.   When I ruptured my ACL in my knee yoga helped clean out the knee and gain full range of motion. I made a full recovery and was playing basketball 6 months after surgery. I can now squat and dead lift over 300 pounds and I've managed to gain the muscles back in my leg!"   Daniel

"I ran a half marathon after not much preparation.  I was tired, in pain, and increasingly stiff as the day progressed.  My mobility became almost non-existent and my back pain was kicking in.  My walking style was similar to that of a penguin.  I was very reluctant to go to yoga that evening – after all, I couldn’t really move, let alone stretch. However, I did go and it wasn’t a walk in the park for me to go through this session.  I thought holding Shoelace or Baby Dragon poses for 4 minutes would increase the considerable pain I already had.  The pain was there during most of the session, and I was having not so nice thoughts about Hannah.  I was hoping that at some point she would let go and say ‘Let’s do Shavasana for 15 minutes’ and let me rest a bit.  Thankfully she didn’t say such a thing; and to my surprise, after “Yoga Therapy for Spine & Mind” session my body fully recovered.  I slept like a baby (not Baby Dragon, but a human one)."  Denis

I attended my first class at Bikram Yoga Marda Loop in December of 2012, and have consistently returned for the teachers, the environment and the community. First time visitors and long time students are equally welcomed walking in the door and encouraged to linger after classes with any questions about postures, yoga or the community.

I recommend Bikram Yoga in Marda Loop. I haven't been going for that long but it will be my home studio. I like that the instructors are caring and its a non pretentious atmosphere. Its not a fancy studio but I feel happy and centered after my practice which is the most important.

I've been to over a dozen bikram studios around North America and the Marda loop location is by far my favourite. Starting from the view overlooking 33rd ave, the underground parking, and the vicinity to Phil and Sebastian, this studio makes for the best locale. I forget the owners name, but she is always pleasant and bubbly whenever I get the chance to stop by for a drop-in class. Make sure to give this studio a try, I miss it!

Overall one of the best Yoga studios in Calgary. The facilities are large, clean and comfortable. The costs are fairly high, but at least you know the studio is hygienic, which is a must for a 90 minute bikram hot yoga class. The staff seem all well trained and pleasant. It would be nice to have the fluorescent lights higher, as im quite tall and find them bright. I always get there early and position myself adequately at first. Some direction into spacing would be helpful, as often the studio is not full at the times I go.

This is easily one of the very best studios in town. I moved from Vancouver, where yoga is practically a religion and I would definitely recommend this studio. Bikram yoga is great for everybody and I would recommend it for beginners or advanced as it is an excellent foundation but also challenging. The studio owner is awesome too and a very kind person. 5 stars!

Took a class for the first time yesterday, it was a fantastic experience. My husband and daughters came as well, everyone had a good experience. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. The facilities were clean and well kept. I enjoyed that fact there were people at all levels and not a group of pretentious experts. The instructor was very easy to follow and kept the group energy flowing, very down to earth. If you have never tried hot yoga but want to then try this place first!

I previously attended classes at Bikram Marda Loop a few years back. The classes were always very enjoyable, instructors were intense but in a good way (they push you to do your best). I stopped attending when news about Bikram Choudhury became to come out as I decided this type of yoga practice was not for me. I am extremely disappointed to see that years later the studio is still operating under the Bikram name. I understand they are an independent studio, but to continue to carry the name of a man who has abused so many women is upsetting and frankly unacceptable. I would only consider attending this studio again if they changed their name, otherwise there are plenty of other good hot yoga studios in Calgary.

Amazing experience. Came up from the US for a few months and craved some Bikram. Probably the most welcoming yoga teacher I’ve ever had. If I lived in Calgary it would be the regular spot ?
