Went capming there a few weeks ago for the first time. Felt like this whole camp ground was not put together right. Good thing we were there for only 2 and a half days. The map shows a few places where you can get water inside the campground, but didn't find any.. to get clean water you had to drive out of the campground. The next 2 days the washrooms and showers were out of order!!?? Who knows how much longer they were out of order. There's no store in the campground so you have to go to the resort next to it to buy ice and firewood.

Great campground, beautiful lake and beach. Has a nice boat launch and docks. Campground has some sites that back onto the water that are gorgeous.

Second year in seasonal site. Absolutely love it. It's my home away from home. People r so friendly and respect each other. The views are breathtaking from beginning of the season right to the end of the season. Nothing like sitting in your campsite and watching the sky full of stars or sitting on the beach and watching the mot amazing sunset. Definitely worth the ride.

It is one of the farther beaches in the Whiteshell from Winnipeg and not a huge area but nice and quaint. BE AWARE: there is NO cell reception, which for me was perfect. There is a washroom and a small playground but no other amenities in walking distance. The scenery from the boat is breathtaking Canadian Shield all the way ?

Campground was nice for the first few nights.. once the weekend hit, a very loud generator disrupted the whole experience.

Nice Canadian shield lake! Campground has running toilets and water as well as big sites. Fishing was good, beach was surprisingly nice and some nice hiking trails. Convience store close by too. Looses points for limited boat parking. But overall a good family campground

Love Big Whiteshell!! Our family has been going here for the past 20 years, and it is by far the nicest lake/campground I've been to! All of the camp sites are spacious, have good spacing and most of them have good privacy! There are basic/electrical/water sites - all super well priced and nice! There are running water bathrooms located all around the camp ground, as well as some out houses. There is an amphitheater, where they play nature videos, have a camp fire - which is super fun if you have kids and are looking for something to do. There are 2 play structures - the one by the beach is a little older, but there is an updated one (which is really nice) near the daily camp sites. They just updated one of their bathroom facilities in the center of the daily sites and it is really nice - super clean, has showers, nice big bathrooms, handicap bathroom. There are also nice bathrooms/showers near the seasonal sites. Which before last year were the only showers at the campground. We have had a seasonal site for the past 7-8 years, and have been happy with every one of the sites we got! They all have good privacy, lots of space, treed in, room for tents/camper and to have a deck and room around the fire pit. The beach is good - always pretty busy. There are also some really great jumping rocks located around the lake! So fun! We have found some flat rock "beach areas" that typically don't have any people that we like to use to swim. The lake is not ever very choppy (a problem that we had at Brereton Lake) - which makes for perfect Knee boarding/wake boarding/skiing/tubing - as well as fishing! They have a tennis court, basketball hoop, some really nice hiking trails, and a convenient store (run by AMAZING people) just a short walk from the campground! All in all, I would HIGHLY recommend anyone to camp at Big Whiteshell!
