So i am going to start with a very unpleasant experience with Preston, the store manager of Pearl st. location.. this individual is more than excited to slander and belittle consumers in store over minor invocations. I have been told one thing and then told another by this individual, the experiences in store after spending over $2000.00 CDN in store on various goods.. absolutely degrading and downright depressing. Today, me and my collegue had walked down to the Pearl Street location to return an item that had been sold "as is" however the front desk attendant had told me : "you have thirty days to return it for any reason within 30 days if i was not happy with the product " . So with this is mind that my workstation can be returned, i waited for my payday today to return this laptop for something much more adequet and more intact ( as there are several damages , that should have reduced the pricing of this unit ) . Well geuss what? i was verbally assaulted by Preston ! Lucky i brought a witness because i am sure the BBB will be happy to hear from another customer about this unacceptable experience. I was told that i could not return the product in question even though the attenant told me otherwise, then to make things even worse.. Preston had brought up an incident from over 3 years ago, an incident that had nothing to do with this particular interaction. My collegue had mentioned that this is descrimination and was not fair business practice, that i should speak to the store manager. Preston said: "I am the store manager, and i say no so too bad, are'nt you banned?" which my collegue was also with me last time i tried to pawn and was denied, no mention of bans or any other restricition was mentioned by Preston, ( that was about a month ago ) . So this showed both of us that your establishement is not capable of taking responsibility, having reasonable practice or an acceptable and tolerant behavior ( which being followed out of the store being threatened by the police for stating i would speak with his boss is completely un-professional.. so much that a customer who just pulled up, turned around and walked out the door, calling Big Ed's "thieves" & "abusers of the homeless" . I had been more than reasonable about explaining my stance on return and my collegue is a witness to this, being banned and muscled around by a store manager is unacceptable business practice, it's called instigation, provacation of conflict and lack of human value. Abusing the homeless is not something i thought Big Ed's was up to, but i geuss that's how you make profits right? riding on the backs of the working people with nothing? Sick. This is going all over the Media for sure !

Bought a "new", in the package PS4 remote here. The package had been opened but i was assured it was only used once as a demo. First use and it had a broken toggle which is constantly stuck in as if someone spilt sticky liquids into it. It also beeps instead of vibrates. Avoid this place at all costs.

I've had nothing but positive experiences at big eds, they were always helpful, polite and fair. Always thought they priced things appropriately opposed to other pawn shops where they overprice their merchandise. Big eds has treated me well through out the years.

Arrived at the store 30 minutes before they closed to view/buy jewelry. The employees told me they remove all the jewelry from the cases early so they can close and go home faster. Said I could come back a different day if I really wanted to buy something.

I have been dealing with Big Ed's (Preston mainly) for many years now... they have helped in so many different tough days/situations... I have yet to ever have a bad experience. I always have found them fair, reasonable and professional. This most recent visit I was going to redeem all my pawned items (which over the past year had become quite large with interest) ...Preston was very friendly and conducted the transaction in the best possible manner... and he gave me the most amazing deal I could have hoped for. Considering our transaction means I technically won't be back to give him any more business, he still made me feel like I was a valued customer and that I was going to be treated as such whenever I return. I will definitely go back for purchases in the future. Great people and great service!

As per usual I had a wonderful experience at Big Ed's yesterday. I've been shopping there for at least 20 years and continue to return because they are always honest fair and reliable. I've bought everything from furnishings to electronics. My most popular items are the video games and systems. ALL of my games and systems have been purchased at one of the many locations in town. Yesterday i was fortunate to meet an awesome salesman by the name of Preston. He was so helpful and pleasant, and made my shopping experience unbelievable. Not only did he make a few game suggestions that were bang on, demonstrating that he paid attention to the needs of his customers, but he was such a joy to converse with, he unknowingly made a difficult day so much better. I goofed and bought games for one of the few systems I DON'T have. Upon my return, Preston reassured me that was not a problem and immediately offered me my choice of a refund or exchange, which is yet another reason why I have returned to the store for years. If you want a store with knowledgeable and friendly staff and a wide variety of quality products combined with unbeatable costumer service , go to Big Ed's! You'll be so glad you did!

Staff are helpful and friendly. During covid the store is currently limited to at door service. They will still take pawns and you can call to ask about product requests. They also display a lot of products and video games at the entrance, so always worth a look.

Big Ed’s Pawn is the pawn shop where I go so often. They are smaller than Max pawn but they almost have what I need. The first thing I bought here was iPad air 2 16Gbs for 150$ two years ago. I bought many lacking tool from here. One long wrench, one 5/8 socket and a 1/2 to 3/4 adaptor cost me 5$ and I considered it the best price I could find after searching on Internet. Of course, pawn is a business then don’t ever compare with Value Village or Thrift-stores. I love the knives and collections here. Looks at my pictures and find what meet you.
