Not bad for a hotel lounge. Not great either. Expensive and the food was nothing special. They try too hard instead of concentrating on the basics. Service was good at least. The chicken sandwich I had was loaded with all sorts of junk that didn’t belong but the fries were very good. What’s wrong with a chicken burger with lettuce and tomato? Why do you have to try and fancy something so basic up? It just ruins it. Wife had some chicken appy that was pretty good and she had the seafood chowder. She said it was terrible. It had more chunks of tomato than seafood. She said she found 1 piece of clam in there… should be called tomato with seafood soup. Not seafood chowder. Oh yea… want a cocktail? $16. No thanks. Had a $7.25 bottle of Kokanee beer LOL. if you are staying here and don’t want to travel anywhere then go for it. Not great but judging by our other restaurant experiences in this town… may as well just go here.

Lucky we were there on Saturday, enjoyed the live music so much, one star plus for it! But the service was lousy and slow (they said it's because the servers work for both this lounge and the other restaurant on the same floor). The food was just okay for $$, you're paying more for the fantastic veiw.

Had two lovely visits to the lounge this long weekend. That view! ? Lovely servers and food. I was a little disappointed with the ceaser tho. For a traditionally salty and savoury drink, it was verging on sweet. :/ Can’t wait to be back in the area

Overpriced for the quality of food, honestly just sub par for an establishment in this quality of resort. Should not have to wait 20min between starters and main meals. And sorry but trying to have a nice birthday dinner and the Trivia game thing was so loud and annoying. we decided to take our food to go. Which I asked for before our food arrived at our table, but they still brought to our table and said we had to pack it up ourselves (a COVID rule) and the house manager? Gave attitude when I complained about time it took to get our meal and having to pack it ourselves.

We just ordered food for takeout at 8pm. The bar wasn't very full and was told our order would be ready to be picked up in 15 mins. It was ready 35 mins later. We ordered 1 bowl of chowder and 1 poutine. When we got back to the room, we had in our bag 1 chowder and 1 Caesar salad....this experience sums up our dining experience overall while staying at Black Rock. The resort is lovely but during my birthday weekend here we have had a bad experience in both the bar/takeout and Currents restaurant. They've let us keep the salad and had the poutine on hand so it was probably just a simple mistake..but it is printed in huge letters on the ticket on the bag. Maybe it is quality of staff during Covid times or maybe just bad luck we've had this weekend but because of this impression of our first stay at Black Rock we would not choose to eat at the bar or restaurant again.

Day 1 in Ucluelet staying at the Blackrock resort with amazing oceanfront views even from this restaurant. Had high hopes for this bar given it’s located at a 4 star hotel and advertised as “artisan inspired culinary experience” and unfortunately I’m very disappointed again with our first dinner here in Ucluelet. We ordered the seafood chowder (unappetizing presentation ), chicken burger with fries and crab dip as an appetizer. Chowder arrived almost room temperature , barely any seafood in it and didn’t taste very good. I had to eat it coz it cost $16 and I was hungry. My hubby’s burger was so mediocre and fries were cold! I would say the best dish we got is the crab dip and yet it was just ok…thankfully our eyes is fed by beautiful scenery otherwise I definitely will not come back. :((

Our server Bronson was professional and attentive. Excellent service! The waterfront views are beautiful! The food is good enough. My pulled-pork sandwich was yummy though there wasn't a strong barbecue flavour. Come for the convenience of the Blackrock Resort location, great service, and the priceless views.

Visited the Big Beach Bar and Lounge on three different occasions while we stayed at the resort. We were biased towards the wings. Great wings and a view, can't beat it. The staff, Nathan and crew, worked all three days we were there were great. Very welcoming, friendly, and made tasty recommendations. We had the Wings (x3 - maybe the best we've ever had), Pakora's, charcuterie, and field salad. Of course a few drinks along the way. The Ucluelet Cider is one of my new favorites. Protip: order the Maple Hot Wings. You will not be disappointed.
