M	Ms Bee on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is just awful. My loved-one lived there for four years and I was there A LOT to see what goes on. Almost 100% of the time when I would ask staff something I got the same answer over and over again: "I don't know. I don't usually work on this unit/floor/area. I'm just filling in." And they would NEVER try and find an answer. It was beyond appalling. They also left my mother in bed for an entire Saturday because her laundry hadn't come back so she didn't have any pants. When I found out I asked them why they didn't call me. Their response: "We can put that in her care plan to call you when in the future you mother doesn't have pants." Seriously. That was their answer. They were going to leave her in bed until her laundry came back on TUESDAY. My mother lost all of her upper teeth due to inadequate mouth care. Another time my mother's ear swelled up with infection so badly blood was coming out of it and they kept refusing to call the doctor or prescribe antibiotics. They also found her upside down falling out of her bed against the wall early one morning. No one knows how long she was stuck like that. Her forehead and shoulder were scraped raw. I found a huge dead fly in her food once and another time a long black hair was in her mashed potatoes. It was a never-ending nightmare. I was so relieved to get her out of there. The food is horrible, the place has a horrible lingering smell and the people just don't care. No one is ever accountable for anything they say or do.

I	Ivan Silva on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent place, if you want your loved ones be neglected, malnourished, and/or abused. The staff is most of the time just checking their phones, while residents wait for their medications. LPN's either don't listen to the residents, or can't understand what they are saying, because their English is limited. Plus it feels like some are using the current Covid situation to not do their jobs properly. The doctor Lai is hardly ever there. And not sure what shady back alley got his degree, because doesn't seem to have any medical knowledge or he simply doesn't care to treat the residents. The kitchen staff, not sure if actually know how to cook.
K	Kim D. on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I know, I read the reviews like you and was terrified to send my loved one to Bethany Calgary. Needing immediate placement we had no choice. Keep in mind this is a very large location and everyone's experience will be different. The building itself is old and is in serious need of a renovation. However, a care facility is only as good as its staff. On our loved one's the floor the staff are kind, helpful and seem to really care about their people. Remember to always advocate for your loved one, ask for more exercise time, activity time, request companion time, etc. If you see an area of concern speak with the staff, in our experience they are willing to work with you. One more tip, pack more clothes than you think (3 weeks worth) as the laundry service doesn't always have a quick turn around time. My only issue is that we could have received more guidance prior to arriving at the building. Such things like: Which door to go to? Maybe a tour of the building? How much clothing to pack? How many pairs of shoes/slippers? What services can be provided at additional cost? For example, I was about to book a dental cleaning outside the facility for my loved one only to find out that this service can be provided at the building upon request. Now this might change due to the ever changing covid conditions, but it doesn't hurt to ask. Most families are under duress especially when needing immediate placement so these simple suggestions mean a lot.
T	Thor Woden on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Apparently the "Chef" at this place can't source crackers. Blames it on COVID and the Russia/Ukraine conflict. I guess he never heard of COSTCO, WALMART, Real Canadian Superstore, Safeway, Calgary Co-op? At least he didn't blame it on Harper or Trump.

p	prinz ority on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you rely on parking this may not be the place for you. There’s some visitor parking but staff get there early and take those spots. I reported it and got a shoulder shrug. If you don’t mind walking you can park on some of the near streets for 1,2 or 3 hrs. patrolled by parking control. The area is hilly and you better be good on your feet on bad days. Also avoid the side entrance if you don’t like second hand smoke because this is where the smokers go & it’s nasty, like one big ashtray.
M	Melinda Chiasson on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My father was put in this horrible place to recover from pneumonia. He was on his way to recovery when he had a fall because of an uncaring staff member. My father asked to go the washroom and the staff member told him to wait because she was going on break. My father tried to get to the washroom by himself and fell. He was put in bed with a broken femur overnight. He was taken to hospital the next day and had to have surgery. Do not leave your family here!
