Vietnamese Food as it best, Beefun Hotpot, formally known as Green Basil locating on Macleod Trail SW, Calgary, AB.For over 5 years, we are serving Calgary with delicious Vietnamese food and Thai food. As of November, 2018 we are pleased to announce the new and exiting menu item to our restaurant just in time for the long winter months. Our Chao Shan’s Beef Hotpot originated 100 years ago from China, with the delicious broth with over 10 hours to prepare and to extract all its nutrient & taste from meat. Also the Beefun Beef balls are made in store by hands with our freshly arrived beef and allows us to achieve a unique texture and extraordinary taste.

At Beefun Hotpot we only selects AAA Beef from local cattle farm in Alberta.

Thai cooking places emphasis on lightly prepared dishes with strong aromatic components and a spicy edge. Thai food as demonstrating “intricacy; attention to detail; texture; color; taste; and the use of ingredients with medicinal benefits, as well as good flavor”, as well as care being given to the food’s appearance, smell and context.

In 2017, seven Thai dishes appeared on a list of the “World’s 50 Best Foods”— a online poll of 35,000 people worldwide by CNN Travel. Thailand had more dishes on the list than any other country.

We had an amazing experience but I genuinely feel that excluding seafood and more vegetable variety could be more detrimental than anything. Would love to see the owners make some changes and add more variety. Nonetheless the environment was warm, service was great, and beef hotpot was incomparable.

C	Chloe Chan on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Outrageously over-priced, and proportions are ridiculously small. As a Chinese person, I have never been so disappointed from a Chinese restaurant. Never did I think you could hotpot wrong but this place proved me wrong. The ingredients aren't fresh, lettuce was old and full of holes like Swiss cheese. Corn tasted like it was previously frozen and defrosted and then frozen again (mushy and transparent when cooked), mushrooms were pathetically small and dehydrated (reminded me of my 80 year old grandpa's foot), duck blood was thinly sliced. Don't even get me started on the meat, the server told us we didn't have to cook our beef for long because "it's triple A beef", but that's not right. You don't have to cook your meat for long because they give you very thin slices, it's like paper. We paid for $4/ veggie thinking that it would be a full plate, we were very wrong to think that. Each type of veggie was half of the plate and they have tiny plates. The tomato broth is poor quality, it has a very artifical taste. I've had better soup base from a bag. You really don't get much to eat, definitely not worth the price. We ended up paying the same price as AYCE, but left feeling hungry and food quality was awful. You're honestly better off going to the AYCE hotpot restaurant in chinatown.

I usually never know how long to cook each meat so that was a nice touch. The hot pot was very delicious. I highly recommend BeeFun if you are looking for a unique hot pot experience. I will definitely be coming back again!

We got the beef taster with ALL the cuts to try and the marinated fish skin. There was also the novelty of vitasoy in a glass bottle. They offered some other unique beverage selections too. I accidently saved over the original picture with my marked up version with our favorite cuts of meat ? so now you know which cuts of meat to order. You're welcome ?

Especially recommend the beef combo which has a great presentation about which part of beef it comes from. Little bit $$$ but worth every penny. Will come back again. Very recommend.

Imagine enjoying a selection of freshly cut (not frozen) platter of beef with your hot pot, yummm! ? Our favourite cuts were the beef flank and tongue. The ????????? and ?????? beef balls are ???? ?? ?????, definitely a ???? ???! Also make sure to order the NEW creamy soy milk w/ miso broth, you won’t be disappointed. ?
