★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I would not recommend BDO to anyone who is declaring bankruptcy. First I had to pay $1800.00 to a credit service company to get things started. Then I had to pay BDO $1800.00 to start the paperwork. Then I had to pay them $343.00 per month for 24 months. Now they are saying I have a surplus of 15384.00 and do I have money to pay it off. WHAT?????? Try 4 pillars instead. With BDO my credit is screwed for 7 years. I'll be 65 years old when I can apply for furniture or a vehicle...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The person I dealt with acted like I was a deadbeat when in reality I had gotten sick and was unable to manage my debt. She was cold and unprofessional and didn’t live up to her obligations to keep me informed of excess income etc. The agreement was that I was supposed to be kept abreast of the potential of excess income repayment as the bankruptcy progressed so I could adjust my monthly payments to avoid a large repayment at the end of my bankruptcy.
That didn’t happen so for the last year of my bankruptcy my payments almost tripled with zero notice.
When I asked why this agreement wasn’t honoured I was told it was new BDO policy to not inform the client of the potential of excess income and I was supposed to monitor it myself.
So in between surgeries I had to cut corners and live on basically nothing so I could pay the excess income back,because BDO’s rep was too lazy to make a phone call and live up to our agreement.
I paid them as a customer to provide me with a service but was treated like a lower life form instead and will never have any business dealings with them again.
There are so many better options for help when you’re struggling than these people and I would recommend that you avoid them at all costs.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had a great experience with this company when I hit a big bump in my road! The consultant that I dealt with was friendly and knowledgeable. She was willing to explain the differences between a bankruptcy and a consumer proposal so that I was able to make an informed decision which direction to take.
I would recommend BDO to anyone who requires the assistance to overcome their debt problems!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I highly recommend BDO to anyone who finds their debts are becoming unmanageable. I was in a tough spot financially while going through my divorce. I met with a BDO trustee for the initial (free!) consultation, and immediately felt the weight lifted off my shoulders. They explained my options to me, where before I didn't think I had options.
From my experience, meeting with someone to discuss the best way to manage your debt should be one of the first calls you make. I highly recommend BDO for their knowledge, experience, and friendly service. Dealing with debt is a difficult thing. BDO took care of the details, and my stress. So I could focus on moving forward.

Her and the BDO Team were able to guide me and answer all and any questions I had and were very prompt on their retorts. I hate to see where I'd be today if it wasn't for their guidance!
