Trust shattered. Double the price quoted, furniture & lamps etc left in pieces without screws etc to be found, many items broken, boxes mislabelled or not labelled at all, non-response from management. Shameful disregard for a senior woman.

Most of my furniture was damaged upon arrival. I was told that there was a 500.00 deductible for the insurance coverage. I was originally told my items would arrive within a two-day window and after paying and having my items picked up it was changed to a four-day tentative window (but not guaranteed). Additional charges that they "forgot about" after my items were picked up, were added. This included a 75.00 elevator fee and the scaling fee was removed. It was later added back in. This company contracts out so that there are multiple companies that move your items. I was told that I would be given a comprehensive receipt after the move. I waited 15 days and no receipt. I did receive individual receipts from the companies I moved with. I emailed my moving consultant. This individual said someone else would send the receipt. Six days later I did not receive anything so I phoned the company. After receiving an email prior to phoning that a comprehensive receipt is issued 30-60 days after the move, the same person told me on the phone they did not issue comprehensive receipts. Do your research. The company does not cover damaged furniture that they "protect" and move without paying a 500.00 deductible. If you pack your own items (not furniture) there is no coverage if items are damaged. The most alluring aspect of BC Alberta Movers is the competitive price. They did store my items for a few weeks. The movers who picked up my items were on time. This review is not for the individual contracted companies but BC Alberta Movers. I would recommend going with a more reputable company. A guaranteed delivery range and insurance coverage are not offered by this company and yet essential. The policies of the company leave little accountability on them. There is no guaranteed pickup or a delivery day or even a range of days. It is tentative. There is a huge deductible if they damage your furniture. And additional charged can be added after. The worst moving we have ever experienced. We signed a contract with BC Alberta Movers for a door-to-door service but they didn't inform us that they will act as a broker. In fact they dumped us to other companies available with a truck. We moved from Montreal to Calgary and the first hauler refused to give us a copy on the list of items they loaded on their truck. We flew to Calgary waiting for the delivery and we were contacted by another unknown hauler who wrote that they were in charge and we had to pay before the delivery and informing us that the price has increase of 1,100$. We had a heated conversation with BC Alberta Movers (Walter) because we wanted to have the contract respected. At the end we had to accept the increase and we paid what contracted + the unjustified increase. After the delivery we didn't receive an invoice. We asked few times by email and on the phone but as a result we are still waiting after several months.
