Bay-Charles

I was left so disappointed with my experience in this building. I hope that someone reads this before they get themselves into the same predicament that I have found myself in. This building (55 Charles St W) is infested with cockroaches. When first viewing this apartment I was excited to move into the newly renovated apartment, close to the university of Toronto, located in yorkville, with a lot of other students living in the building. But now 4 months after moving in I have had to move out. 1 month into living in the apartment we noticed a lot of bugs throughout the building. At first we had no idea what they were and later realized they were cockroaches. We notified the building manager and she responded quickly. She found out that the resident below us was infested and did not notify manement nor did he care that his apartment was infested. He was old and overweight and refused to pack up his apartment and prepare his apartment to be sprayed. I had to pack up my entire apartment all over again to have it sprayed. I had the apartment sprayed twice, two weeks apart from each other. Other floors higher in the building also have infested apartments and i even noticed roaches in the staircases and the elevator. I had no choice but to move since the guy downstairs wouldn't do anything in his apartment. We saw roaches everywhere. one night while my brother was sleeping one had even crawled on his face. we had to throw out a lot of our belongings in fear of bringing roaches to our new apartment. if anyone is thinking of moving in here I strongly recommend against it.
