Great tasty food, laid back atmosphere on a Sunday evening and friendly service. We had a much better experience than we anticipated, highly recommended amongst the many (more commercial) restaurants Whistler has to offer!

Fantastic experience! Our server, Jamie, was lovely and thoughtful. The food and drinks were incredible; so much flavour and curated beautifully. The patio space feels super COVID-safe and toasty warm. 10/10 would recommend Basalt and their wonderful staff. We will be coming back!

Incredible fondue and charcuterie board! My girlfriend and I visited tonight and had great service, great wine and great food. The quality of the food was worth the money. Would highly recommend!

We were quite disappointed with our experience at Basalt. We were excited to have a cocktail before supper. However, once we were sat down, we were not visited by a server, not even to give us water. In fact, a couple who got seated after us not only got greeted before us but also got served before us and received their drinks before us despite having arrived after us. The staff avoided making eye contact with us, which made us feel unwanted. We have never gotten up to leave a restaurant, but the lack of even a greeting at Basalt for the 15min that we were there, coupled with the fact that we got ignored compared to other customers, while the restaurant was empty, was enough to make us leave the restaurant. All in all, quite disappointed with the service we received at this restaurant.

After a long day of travel, this was a great place to top it off with. The Basalt Charcuterie board was varied, tasty, and seemingly bottomless. The Vegetable Soup was probably the tastiest one I’ve ever had. The double Espresso went remarkably well with the Sticky Toffee Apple Pudding dessert. They didn’t have bottle of Red Wine we had our eyes on, but they gave us a better bottle for the same price!

Waiter was very engaging and funny, food and drinks are top quality. Happy hour deals are very nice. Great way to unwind at the end of a big day of hiking, skiing or biking.

The fondue here is incredible, probably the best in town. Its a great place to go with friends and have some wine. My personal favorite was the hugo spritz, which quickly became my favorite cocktail. For the fondue we had the sides of squash, pickles and apples. Their tomato soup is also quite tasty and the salads are great. Overall its a great option with fresh ingredients and amazing dishes. Totally recommend for a casual dinner with friends or family and the cocktails are amazing.

Great patio with powerful heaters (which my gf appreciated on a chilly afternoon) The food and beverages were great value during Happy Hour. The food specifically was unsurprising but tasteful. I did not enjoy the mussels which smelt + tasted of strong fish. Great spot to people watch!
