★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My group of friends advised that they had made a reservation for a 7 seater vehicle and agent Teresa Pace started questioning why the booking agent was renting them a vehicle.
Teresa racially profiled my group of friends and stated that they were on a
'do not rent’ list because she thought they resembled an individual who was denied a vehicle from the night before. She even had another agent lie which they later found out through the booking agent because he admitted to my friends that his colleagues knew they were not the suspected individuals from the night before . When asked about why they could not disclose any information about being denied a rental car that they already had a reservation for, the booking agent became enraged and told my group of friends to “SHUT UP!”. Teresa and the booking agent then threatened to call the police on my friends.
The racial profiling that friends have experience at this location was sickening. As someone that frequently uses AVIS during business trips, it is very disappointing to hear about an experience like this where there is clearly some racial profiling going on. DO NOT RENT FROM HERE.
We will take the appropriate action to ensure this injustice and racial profiling reaches the Avis head office to ensure proper actions are taken on both Teresa and the booking agent.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This location brought in a pick-up truck for me on short notice and had it all full, clean, and ready to go when I arrived. Very nice service and very fair, which was a nice surprise after being duped by other car rental places in the past. They forgot to point out that there was a charge for extra kilometers when I picked up the truck, and they waived the fees when I arrived which was very kind, rather than saying "well it's in the contract". It was nice to not have to go to the airport to get a car and I will be using them as much as possible in the future.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We picked up our Avis rental vehicle from their office at 451 West 8th Avenue. Pal was the gentleman who attended to us. We were both impressed with the level of professional service he provided. He took the time to show us the car as well as go through and explain its many features. Nothing was too much trouble. Pal is a credit to the Avis organisation. The vehicle provided was in immaculate condition and worked faultlessly throughout the rental period.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pal at this Avis location was incredibly helpful! We've rented a car through him a couple times and each time, he answered all while displaying a positive attitude to be helpful as much as possible. When we rented a car through a different Avis location and ran into some issues, he checked the invoice and explained the charges for us. Pal made us feel so comfortable with his friendly behaviour that we now come to this Avis location first when we need to rent a car in Vancouver and we'll definitely recommend all our friends and family to do the same when they're in the city!
