Avenue Auto Glass - Same day service I Glass Repair & Replacement I ICBC Express I Vancouver

Had my truck broken into over Christmas holidays when visiting Vancouver and had to drive back home. Speedy Autoglass was listed as ICBC priority places but they were all too busy replacing cracked windshields and wouldn't fit me in for an emergency. Salim at Avenue Autoglass took me right in, replaced the window, cleaned every shard of glass out of my interior and had me on my way. Super friendly and professional service. I would go to his business before supporting a franchise owned place.

The team at Avenue Auto Glass is amazing and goes above and beyond. The factory tint on my car was defective and had been horribly rippled for years - Avenue Auto Glass removed it and applied new tint and a new windshield in a matter of hours. After I picked up my car, I seem to have misplaced my insurance papers. When I called back to ask if they had been left behind, they immediately offered to pay the fee to have them reprinted. I declined their generous offer, and ended up finding them behind the glovebox. I have already recommended Avenue Auto Glass to my friends and family, and will continue to do so.

Rock solid service. I have one of those complex windshields with sensors and tinting but these folks did everything right the first time and finished early. They won't win any interior design awards for the office but that's not why I went there. Six stars?

Great service here - had a large rock chip on my windshield and they did an amazing job with the repair. It's been 1.5 yrs and it's held! Highly recommend them.

If l could give these guys 10 stars, I would. I'm still sitting in their parking lot sitting this review at 6PM because the owner stayed and waited a half an hour after they closed for me to bring back the free courtesy car and pick up my vehicle. Once I got there, he still took the time to go over what I needed to do and not to do to make sure the glass would be in the best condition or could be, and I got a courtesy pen and cleaning spray and cloth. On top of that, my car is detailed and the glass looks great. I tried to tip him but he wouldn't take it. It's not often that I feel the need to write a positive review, but outstanding service guys. I will be recommending these guys for life. I'm almost done, except I have to say that this pen is crazy nice. Like nicer than most pens I own.

EDIT: They responded and said they needed to view the windshield first to see if it required repair or replacement. It's true, I told them I wasn't sure but needed one or the other. Their response also said "when she showed up in the afternoon it was too late for same day service". I stated to the person on the phone that morning that I needed it repaired/replaced "today". So to recap, I told them it might be a replacement and I needed it “today”, so when they scheduled me to arrive mid-afternoon, to me that meant they could repair or replace within their remaining operating hours. They selected the time mid-afternoon for me to arrive. I was prepared to drive in at the time of my phone call that morning when they had 5-6 hours before closing time. Their response to my review indicates they’re aware their shop takes 4 hours for replacements, so they should have asked me if I could come in immediately knowing I needed same-day service (giving them 5-6 hours to complete), or notified me that if it required replacement and I came at 2pm when they scheduled me, then they wouldn’t be able to offer same-day service. The miscommunication from them is what I’m frustrated about – I was left scrambling to find another shop to complete the work same-day because of it. It’s a shame that they opted to simply respond to this review and not reach out to me directly to discuss further. Original Review: I needed same day service and found this shop - their website said they offered mobile service at no extra cost and same day service, and they were well rated. Perfect, just what I needed! I called them in the morning - didn't get an answer but left a message. Called again (still in the morning) when I hadn't heard back and was told to come in mid-afternoon, no offer to come to me with their mobile service. Upon arrival someone came and looked at my windshield and said "we can't repair that". I was confused, so I asked "then can you replace it?" They directed me upstairs. I went upstairs and was told I couldn't pick up the car until the next day! I live far away (this place was close to my work - not my home), so I mentioned that I couldn't leave without a vehicle as I'd have no way home. They said I came too late in the day - at the time they specified, and that a windshield replacement takes 4-5 hours. I see other reviewers were offered a courtesy vehicle - I wasn't, I'm guessing because courtesy vehicles are only offered for same-day service? I asked what alternative solutions they could offer and they simply suggested I continue driving the car as it was until I could get scheduled for same day service a different day. I was extremely stressed because after 30 minutes of driving the windshield had already cracked approximately 8 inches in diameter and was still cracking further, so I didn't feel it was safe to keep driving without repair. I asked if they knew of any 24 hour shops around and they shrugged their shoulders. I am frustrated that they made me wait a few hours for an appointment just to tell me they wouldn't do same day service like they promote, especially considering I called in the morning when there was plenty of time to accommodate same day service or let me know it couldn't be done same day so I could go elsewhere. I instead had to race around town to find a place last minute that could get it done. Fun fact - the place I ended up replaced my windshield within 2-3 hours, so I really don't understand why Avenue Auto Glass couldn't repair mine within their operating hours that day.

Dealing with car troubles isn’t always the most pleasant, but after I I left this place I felt compelled to want to review and recommend this place for anyone looking to replace their windshield. What got me in, was that they were the fastest available appointment. I can see why they have such great reviews, customer service was very friendly and was above and beyond my expectations, between the lady at reception, and the gentleman that did the repair, it was a great experience. I’m also pretty stoked about the fancy pen, and complimentary washer fluid-top-up, front-end vacuuming and glass cleaner :)
