Well equipped campground, especially for the beginner camper. We got an “Otentik” which is an A-frame cabin/tent with permanent sleep shelves with pads, tables and chairs both inside and outside. There’s drinking water onsite and firewood stacks all around and fire pits at each site. Our site even came with a propane BBQ. The only knocks are that some of the sites are still quite close to the main park road, with cars returning to the city late into the evening. There was also a fair number of loud modified cars, but maybe that was an odd coincidence. All in all, if you are new to camping, or just want something easy and close to the city, then this place is hard to beat.

I come here every weekend whether It be a cool bird, bison, coyotes or just the simple tranquil moments they will live with me forever! Such a beautiful well kept park I will forever return. My home away from home.

The new renovations to the buildings, camp sites, and overall campground are fantastic! I’ve camped there many of times over the years and this is the best I’ve ever seen the campground. The bathrooms are clean and many of them have been renovated. The cook shelters are also newly renovated and very spacious. It is so nice to have great facilities so close to Edmonton. One of these times I’ll try out the walk in camp sites or a group site.

As it was out first time visiting the walk-in tenting campsite, we didn't really know what to expect. I really have mixed feelings about it. The walk-in tenting is perfect for first time campers, or a small family with children camping for the first time because amenities are close and clean. There is a cooking shelter with picnic tables and stove free for public use, as well as multiple bathrooms and showers. That being said, if you are a seasoned camper, I do not believe it would be as enjoyable. There is no privacy between spots. You are right next to surrounding campers, nearly bumping tents. You are sitting within 15 feet of each others campfires. Close enough to listen to everyone's conversations. As it is a walk-in spot, you need to park your car in the lot below and carry all of your belongings to the site and then all of your food back down to your car at the end of the night. Astotin Lake has a very busy day parking lot right across the street from the tents, which you can hear over the course of the day and well into the night. You need to pay for your fire permit which is not included with your booking online, but most of the wood is soaked through. The wood you get directly in the walk-in tenting area is slightly covered on top, but generally open to the elements. If you walk a bit further down to the parking lot, there is more wood but it's completely uncovered and also wet. The trails are nice around the lake, a lot of great views. Be prepared to bring a lot of bug spray as the park is quite swampy, so expect a lot of mosquitoes at dusk and dawn. Watching Bison wandering around was also really neat as it was my first time seeing them. Despite that, I don't think I would return to camp and a day trip would be too far for me to drive.

Good place to camp during the summer, every campsite gets clean running water(cold) and firewood. Some campsites even got a small playground. Although the campsite we picked was a bit noisy during the morning and I couldn't sleep since it was near the road. The canoe rentals were limited to weekends so we couldn't canoe. At night there were tons of mosquitoes especially outside the bathroom since they were attracted to the light. I even saw a few deers and a buffalo.

Clean camp ground with shade, clean and nice bathrooms and showers with easy access to them all, even have handicap ones you can drive up too. Lot's of wild life both on the water and land. Saw many beautiful variations of butterflies, some black bunnies, et. The beautiful sound of the birds both in the water and around campsites is lovely to sit back and just listen too. A lot of day use areas with a really nice updated playground. Family and pet friendly, just have to make sure there is no blue/green algea in the water as it can be deadly to your pet. Beautiful to kayak. We had our own but I saw a sign that said they rent, although with covid I don't believe that was an option this summer. Also when covid is not an issue the gulf club has a place you can eat that's close by, otherwise your looking at almost a half hour drive to get to anywhere to eat.

Close enough but far enough to get away from the city. Great place to take the kids to winter or summer camp, hike or kayak. The fire wood/fire pass setup is a great perk. Always enjoyed our time here and have not had a single bad experience.

The campground ⛺️ is easily accessible and. It is well looked after as it looks clean. There is a variety of camping options from tenting to vacation trailers. There is also some spots that have a rustic cabin type accommodations. We did not have the opportunity to camp when we visited this time but it looks inviting. We may try it in the future. The campground is in Elk Island National Park ? so there are lots of activities to do here, hiking ?, boating ? and a nice beach ? area. We have been here several times over the years and we always enjoy our time here.
