Arrowhead Family Resort - Onanole

The location is great, it’s perfect for a weekend stay. The beds were super comfy. The family room needed some upgrades, the drapes fell off quite a bit and the heater was broken. They had very few utensils, but the fridge was a good size, would be good for a long stay. The towels provided were super soft and the place was cleaned well!

Gorgeous property, great location, friendly staff. We stayed in a room that appeared to be recently updated and had a great view of Wasagaming drive. There are lots of outdoor spaces to enjoy! We will be back!

If you have $200 a night to throw away please book this place. The room was smelly, noisy and had bugs - spiders, ants, Lady bugs crawling on carpet and walls. The bathroom (if you can call a 3x3 nook under stairs that) was in poor condition. The floor and walls are so thin you can hear conversations. There is no kitchenette in per friendly rooms which seems like a discrimination coz most of the other rooms have that. No microwaves either. Not even creamer provided for coffee. For cleaning services: you've to pick your own garbage but still pay a premium cleaning price for pet rooms. No thanks to the guests who kept dancing on upper floors till 2 am. I've seen highway motels with better rooms. The one and only advantage of the hotel is the location. But eventually we realised that nothing is too far in riding mountain and a few minutes drive or even walk will get you everywhere.

We had so much fun in Wasagaming! We stayed here in one of their updated studio rooms. It was so cute and clean and the location was incredible. The rooms were spotless, the showers were glass and tile and really well done. We have stayed at other places in Wasagaming and the rooms are always a bit dated. I understand this property is in the process of renovating more of their rooms and suites and if they are done the same way as the one we stayed in they will be great! Highly recommend.

We got the updated upper floor studio - Queen room. Although this is our first time staying here, I may have to say that this is the nicest room here. We have a nice big window that overlooks the ice rink and the bonfire pit below us. This is our second and final night in Clearlake. First night, we stayed at Lakehouse, and the second, here at Arrowhead. Out of the two places I would DEFINITELY stay here again. My opinion may have changed if we had a main floor room (which was the case at Lakehouse) but THANKFULLY, we had the upper floor here. We absolutely loved it! Nice and open space. The only cons about our room was our heater and the toilet & shower. The heater started spitting out ice and some white cotton thing when we turned it on which was very weird, so we kept it off. And the toilet & shower is a small and outdated space. But the rest of the room makes up for it! We’ve been ordering from The Lakehouse and their food has been PHENOMENAL every single time. First night, we got the Lakehouse burger, the next morning, we got the Tex-Mex Benedict and the Brisket Benedict and our last night, we ordered the chicken and brie sandwich and the renegade pizza both came with their side of soup (but today happened to be chilli YUM). The staff at both locations have been amazing!! The manager on staff for our stay was very kind and responded to our questions and provided some options for what we can do during our stay. I’m so happy that we get to end our final night here! IMPORTANT TIPS AND THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO IN THE WINTER: - the bison enclosure was closed. There was a barricade so we weren’t able to visit even though at the visitor centre, we were told that it was open. - the Friends of Riding Mountain is closed on Mondays (I don’t know if this is their usual schedule or just their winter schedule) - be aware that most shops are CLOSED in Clearlake aside from The Lakehouse (which is a one stop shop for food, cafe and local apparel) - we were told by the Visitor Centre that we can rent skis at Elkhorn Resort, HOWEVER, I called beforehand to make sure and i was told by their front desk that they have a limited supply available only to guests staying at their resort - there is a Home Hardware that is just before Wasagaming that you can buy just about anything (I.e. groceries, liquor, board games and much more)

Nice place to stay while in Riding Mountain in the winter. Room was a bit small, but clean and close to everything. Very nice skating rink on site and new saunas.

We stayed here in early October. In my opinion this was the perfect time to visit. The weather and the fall colours were absolutely incredible. While there were less shops open around town, the few that were available were cute, warm and accommodating. We picked up some great items at Chocolate Fox, ate at Lakehouse and bought a blanket in their retail shop and rented bikes from Friends of Riding Mountain. The hotel itself is in the process of being remodelled. We stayed in a room that had not been renovated yet but it was clean and had absolutely everything we needed including a little kitchenette for light meals. The property is beautiful and the grassy courtyard looks out over Wasagaming drive. Highly recommend.

Had a great stay here. Rooms are big, huge skating rink right outside. Beds are comfortable. The room is clean. Friendly staff to check us in. We would come back.
