About Arc Counselling

Continuum of Care

The chronic nature of a substance use disorder means that lifestyle and behavioural changes will need to be implemented post treatment. While the structured confines of the treatment centre provide support as you begin building your recovery foundation, it is once you leave that your continuing care plan begins. Much like hypertension, diabetes, coronary issues, or any other chronic condition, when one goes into the hospital for the acute phase of treatment, a specific treatment plan is prescribed and monitored throughout the stay. When you are ready to transition from acute care, you’re provided with an ongoing recovery management plan. This consists of regular follow up, a prescribed post treatment plan, lifestyle changes, and regular involvement with some form of mutual-aid support group. Aurora Recovery Centre is a compassionate, understanding recovery community that will support you from the time you walk through our doors and throughout your lifetime of recovery with our continuum of care.

Complete money grab. The whole facility does not care for the well being of anyone. Ian Rabb says he’ll be there for you the ones they gave your cash they don’t care. I encountered 5 people die after leaving this centre. Do not send any of your loved ones here it is a money grab and nothing less. Dump truck garbage program

I wouldn't be here without the help I received at Aurora. It takes effort and still can be a fight but I'm over 8 month's clean due to my time there. You will get out what you put in. It's not a vacation by no means. But if you put in the work it can help. The people saying "money grab" are most likely ones who didnt do the work there and try to work a program. And sadly the nature of addiction is not everyone makes it. The staff were caring and friendly and are happy to see that I'm still going and still trying. The offer of a continuing care program on Wednesday evenings where past clients can come back and visit/video chat is great. But as I said, it takes effort, it takes work. If you arnt gonna do the work then no treatment facility can help you.

Aurora has been such a blessing in my life. The staff is beyond dedicated to helping everyone who goes through their program. They are caring and compassionate, they understand what you are going through and do anything they can to help you grow and be successful in recovery. Going to Aurora is truly life changing. I have been to other treatments centres but none of them could compare to Aurora. It is truly the best of the best. It is a beautiful facility. It has a detox centre with the most caring, welcoming nurses. The rooms have a great view of the lake, it is so calm and comforting. The classes, group AA meetings and sessions with your personal counsellors truly give you a whole new perspective on life. The owners Ian Rabb and and Paul Melnyk dedicate their lives and share their stories to help everyone who passes through the centre. I don’t know where I would be today without Aurora. I am so incredibly grateful for this place and all of the amazing staff. I would recommend to Aurora to every person I meet who is struggling with alcoholism and drug addiction.

Aurora was a compassionate, safe, and encouraging facility where I recovered. I felt that I had a voice that was listened to by staff, a community in my peers/clients, and was introduced to tools which I still utilize to this day over 18 months sober. I was very sick when I arrived to detox there, and with much patience, respect, and mentorship I have built a life I am quite proud to live.

I spent 30 days at Aurora and have nothing but praise for the facility, program and staff. The counselling is world class and my program was tailored to my specific needs. They are focused on each members success and genuinely care about each clients requirements. I left with a solid grounding with which to continue my recovery. Highly recommended.

Aurora Recovery Centre has earned 2 thumbs up from me. I believe we found a Centre that can have an impact on our loved one. The staff and owners are caring, qualified, professional, open and honest. The Centre is a clean, modern facility with excellent features and healthy food (exactly as seen on their website). My husband and I attended the 3 day Family Program and a Sunday Family breakfast which were both valuable and informative. After spending several days in and out of the Aurora Recovery Centre, it is obvious to me that the staff are truly committed to helping our loved ones and our families fight this horrible disease. We are greatly appreciative of how much we are supported and involved. Aurora Recovery Centre truly cares about the well-being and future of their members. Thank you Andrew Galloway, Interventionist, for recommending Aurora to us. It is with confidence that I too, can recommend Aurora Recovery Centre in helping you or your loved one begin a journey of recovery.

As a parent wanting to get the support and guidance for my daughter I called and spoke to an intake counsellor that was very nice. She recommended for me to look at the option of getting an interventionist. I was interested in looking into this idea although I was unsure of the process. I was aware that my daughter was willing to fly to Winnipeg for help but I was looking at all options. About an hour later an interventionist named Todd called. He was very forward and insisting that I should have an intervention to ensure my daughter would make it on the plane. At first I believed that it was included in the price, as they would pick up my daughter. I did find out that there was an extra cost. As my daughter was willing to go, I decided not to go with the intervention. The interventionist was still being persistent with mentioning that we should go through with it. As this made me feel uncomfortable, I felt like he was getting some incentive for it. As he made me feel pressured, I decided to start looking at other treatment centres within Canada. My daughter ended up going to Vancouver which turned out to be the best choice as I can proudly say that she has been clean for 3.5 months. She went on her own as she wanted to make the change, and didn't need an intervention
